Moving up in an age group should be allowed during High School season with 14U wrestlers. I understand the idea behind it but disagree with it during HS season. 16u wrestlers are in 8th grade. 14u are mostly middle school if not all in Middle School. Elementary Duals can have a 6th Grader wrestle a 2nd grader which is also an ISWA event. I would love to see ISWA change the rule during HS wrestling season. Some middle school programs do not even start wrestling until the end of January, and finding matches can be hard. My son doesn't go to many tournaments but the 2 we have been to have only had a handful of kids in the 16u division. He doesn't have a great birthday for wrestling I guess. I would just like to know others thoughts on this. Maybe I am just looking at from a Dads perspective.

Our sectional alone could get wild. You add Keith from cowan, the kid from Winchester who I believe just beat Keith and Reno from Wes del. Then we go to regionals and add in johns, Moore and smedley and some pretty solid kids are not going to make it out.

Can't wait to see those 106'ers vs local boys in a few weeks at Regional. Levi Johns of Bluffton has been outstanding this year. It's going to be a blast.

At HHC @132 Stud Pendleton freshman 16U Greco state champ Jackson Todd(not to be confused with the other tough Jackson Todd from @Y2CJ41Fw Carrol) knocked off #21 Zach Haughton in sv 7-5... Before falling to Thrine in the finals.. Todd only has 3 losses with 2 coming to the older Thrine.. He impressed me the few times I've seen him this year and know he'll only be getting better like his namesake before him.. He teched Searcy and Illinois state champ In off season Greco and is a big 32 pounder.

Sounds like the opposite of what a coach would want for their team, seeing guys like Seltzer chasing a high level match vs Mendez is how it should be, idk Penns reasoning but I would be ticked if I was in your position.

Thank you for posting! Harrison is about the hardest working kid you could meet. Works his butt off, great teammate, wonderful kid. His family is is very supportive of all wrestling and the community and would greatly appreciate the support. we’d love for you all to come to the HSE-Carmel dual if possible and show your support. They should try and have it both ways. Give the medals, say their name on the mat, then have them all stand on the podium after the finals with their medals already received and just hand out brackets.

That's the way I understood as well; Robert wants to have the awards back to normal on the podium. Not on the mat, however, some of the important folks enjoyed their time in front of the crowd.

I totally agree with the good progress that coach has manifested at Purdue. Slow but steady. These bottom feeder programs will take time and patience to reenergize into top 10 programs. Man this is a tremendous effort by the Purdue coaches
