    Nick Lee OTT

Yeah, he's got some work to do to be the overall GOAT still. Howe had 3 HS titles with only one HS loss, then had a college title, four NCAA top 3s, and was arguably 3rd or 4th best US freestyler for several years with lots of big international wins despite being behind Burroughs at his apex. Angel had 4 state titles, an NCAA title and other high NCAA finishes plus a world 5th place. If Nick wins another college crown and gets a world or olympic medal, he'll be in the conversation for overall GOAT. Olympic gold in 2024 would put him over the top for me for sure.

    Nick Lee OTT

Been listening to a few podcasts lately and a few comments about Nick Lee from Vincenzo Joseph and Jordan Oliver stood out to me. Both talked about how tough it was to wrestle Nick and that he is much stronger than you think he is. Oliver said despite teching him at the US Open, he came away impressed and adjusted how he wrestled him this year at the OTT. He referenced how Nick shut down most of his attacks until he was fortunate enough to score on a double and get a leg lace. At the OTT, he abandoned his single leg (his best move) and focused on doubles and keeping Nick from tying him up. His analysis of their match and JO's other matches was excellent. Cenzo echoed the reference about Nick's strength and how his pace and strength combined can tire out an opponent. Here is a video from You Tube highlighting Nick's scoring during the OTT. He had seven 4 point moves in the tournament. If you missed his matches against Zain and Yianni, here is a little taste. Taking Zain to his back to make it 8-4 was just nasty! I know I heard/saw at least 2 people comment that if there could be an OWW who finished 3rd, Nick should win it hands down Nick Lee OTT Highlights

  3. I ran across this podcast (Wrestling Changed My Life) and it was a great listen. The guest on this episode was Nick Hardwick. Indiana State Wrestling Champion at Lawrence North, Big Ten Football player at Purdue, and a long career in the NFL with the Chargers. The interesting thing is that Nick did not play High School Football. Nick give alot of credit to his High School Coach Royce Deckard.

Blake Maurer's carrier would have been an interesting topic. Who knows what could have come without the injury, he, Coughlin and their coaches are pumping out state champs though!

Coughlin was a 1x AA at IU. For me, you start with all the D1 Champs and work your way down from there. The competition that they face every match is so much different that at the D2, D3 and NAIA levels. 1. Andrew Howe 2. Angel Escobedo 3. Nick Lee - Has a chance to move to #1 next year if he can repeat as National Champ. 4. Jason Tsirtsis 5. Kelvin Jackson
