  2. PEOPLE ARE STEALING KIDS' CODES!!! So we have parents not getting tickets because the codes are being stolen. The codes are not very unique and easily cracked. If you purchased tickets for another kid, you are a horrible person and don't deserve to be a part of this great sport.

  4. This epitomizes what I love so much about Indiana's state tournament. I love watching the placement matches. The pressure is off at that point and the kids just seem to wrestle loose and get after it. So much fun. The year my oldest son placed 3rd was one of the most fun experiences of my life. He won with a last second takedown that at first was a no call, but after deliberation, he was awarded the two... And the crowd went wild. It was awesome! Of course, last year's headlock from his younger brother was about 7 seconds of absolute pandemonium that I still haven't fully recovered from. If you can't tell, I'm ready for this weekend! Let's get it on!

  6. I made some updates and much needed changes to our IndianaMat brackets. First I have one set with state ONLY rankings and one with both semi-state and state rankings. Second, I added past state experience for each weight. Third, fixed the format of the semi-state and state rankings so it's a little easier to read. I'll probably have one more small update with match numbers, but if that's not important print them out. IndianaMat with semi-state and state rankings IndianaMat with state rankings ONLY

  7. Really pisses me off that people would step to this low, especially when a health crisis is going on and probably some Champs parents won’t be able to watch their kid wrestle . Really heartbreaking to me. I can only imagine what that rejected feeling when Ticketmaster says Denied, you can’t come . MAN ! ... if it was me . S*** ....Almost wanna go into Tony Montana rage towards these assholes .

  13. Why is the matches that decide who moves on & who goes home more exciting if it happens in the first 2 rounds? It has already been pointed out but I will repeat it, wrestlebacks do not eliminate ticket round matches. They merely cause them to happen at a different point in the tournament. The excitement of those matches are going to be the same because the stakes have not changed. It has also already been stated, but wrestlebacks are not for determining the Champion. They are for ensuring the most deserving wrestlers are the ones moving on & ultimately placing at State. And given the team title is determined from the individual tournament, wrestlebacks can also have a big effect on that outcome. Case in point, Egli drawing Cottey Friday night. Those might be some very crucial team points lost that could be recovered with wrestlebacks. But lastly to address your initial question regarding how anyone can be in favor of wrestlebacks but not class wrestling. This is because wrestlebacks are about ensuring the best 8 wrestlers get rewarded in the end. While class wrestling is about giving the opportunity for success to more kids. There is a distinct difference there.

  25. This is ridiculous, but couldn't they have sent an allotment for each wrestler to the individual schools. Parents/guardians (4 tix of wrestler) would have one style of physical tickets or something and everyone else would have a different type of ticket.

  33. I only got 2 so far but will post more later on in the week For 106 I got Dickey winning it all against Billerman, however Tishner will be in the race to be under the lights and should be a good match up if Billerman and Tishner cross paths in the semis. At 113 it all depends on how Cottey recovers, if he is healthy he will capture another title, however if he is not healthy it will be Leavell and ruble under the lights, and I’ll give the edge to leavell. Also I would not count demarco out, and can expect to see a match up between rubble and demarco in the semis. 285 don’t sleep on Schafer from connersville, absolute animal and will be breaking a bracket Saturday

    State finals predictions

I said the same thing about Barket after seeing him take out Grange and DeMarco . Pack then beats Barket 8-0 . Pack has proven he's not easy to score on . Pack's 4th place @ 195 last year trumps Filipvovich's 8th @ 182 . But that's why they wrestle. If someone beats Pack , they are a bad dude .

  47. Playing devil's advocate here on a couple points on why one feels palatable and the other not: taking away our current non-wrestleback system--especially at semi-state--doesn't diminish tradition or excitement in people's minds they way you're thinking. Blood rounds just shift to other spots on the bracket and still exist. And the biggest outcry about wrestlebacks is in fact that NOT having them goes counter to "how we do things." Classed individual wrestling feels like a much more tangible detriment to the state finals crown jewel in terms of both excitement and tradition.

    Team race

A couple of huge matches on Friday and Saturday morning could go a long way to determining the team race. Seng vs Billerman - Huge Saturday morning match Cruz vs Zirkelbach - can Zirkelbach help out his dad's alma mater and take out a crown point kid Friday night? Egli vs Cottey - Cottey is obviously the favorite, but is he healthy and will he wrestle? Egli/Cottey winner vs Bahl Saturday morning Demarco vs Coy Hammack Saturday morning Ross vs Lemley - Another huge one right out of the gate Lemley vs Morton - Perry likely loses one Friday night Carleton Perry vs Frazier Friday night Sam Goin vs Lowery - Saturday morning Freeman vs Torres - I think the winner goes to the finals Kaiser vs Hunter May or McKivitz from Perry on Saturday morning Koontz vs undefeated Hardcastle Saturday morning Brock Ellis vs Tyler Conley Saturday morning - Avon could throw a wrench in Chesterton's hopes here Conway vs Estrada Saturday morning Cruz vs Law Saturday morning, the winner then likely gets Robert Major in the semis Kregar vs Dale at 170 Friday night - Perry could lose another here Buchanan vs undefeated Layman on Saturday morning - I think Buchanan takes this one and Chesterton takes another hit Sollars vs Warren in the semis - should be a fantastic match Demarco vs Parker on Friday night Bates vs Ruhlman in the semis I threw a couple semi finals in here, but these early matches will make or break team title hopes for MD, CP, Perry and Chesterton. I see MD with 2 champs (Baumann and Sollars), CP with one (Mendez), Perry with one (Cottey if healthy) and Chesterton with 2 (Lemley and Bates)

  49. Wow, I’ve been following IHSAA wrestling for a long time and this year more than most gives credence to the need for wrestle backs, there are quarter final matches that could be 1/2, worst case 3/4 matches in any given year. I don’t know if it’s Illinois (and other state’s kids moving in), holiday tourneys getting cancelled that would have seen some of these matches happen, a combination of all or what. These brackets are wild!
