Frazier is Nails this could happen again in regional finals! Proud of my guy Thrine and know next week will be even tougher!

I am tired of the hypocrisy. Recently a very talented wrestler was declared ineligible to participate in the state wrestling tournament. This did not only deny a precious year to a high school kid, but also all of Indiana eager to see one of the nations finest improving his craft for all of Indiana’s enjoyment. The reason for this travesty was due to Penn finding a loophole in the Indiana by-laws and exploiting it. Why? No one knows for sure, but what is for sure is a great ambassador for the sport we love will not be showcased on Indiana’s grandest stage. So why is this hypocrisy? Penn has 4 wrestlers from out of state competing for them. A wrestler from Texas, Michigan, Illinois, and South Carolina all of a sudden transferred to Penn this year. Yet there has been no investigation, despite overwhelming evidence of recruiting. The reason for this is simple, most adults realize these kids only have a limited time in school and if they want to leave to a different school, they let them because it is in the best interest for the kid. This happens often in northern Indiana, I am sure also throughout the state and all over the country. In fact, many, many, wrestlers from various programs in northern Indiana have transferred to join Penn. Penn accepts them wholeheartedly. No one fought the transfer because why punish the kid. However, when Penn loses a kid the first thing they do is block the kid. Blatant Hypocrisy.

Today at noon eastern time. 11 central. Will the Lee’s be wrestling? Following this contest about 2 eastern,the Hoosiers get after it with Northwestern. This is a tri dual at Evanston. Probably on big ten plus only. So just the money guys will be able to watch.

It’s a legitimate concern for a school (any school) to recruit and displace a student that has come up through the area and program. Maybe a little leeway with the COVID restrictions in other states. I don’t know what you are referring to specifically, but if a school is accepting transfers and also calling out another school, then that is an issue. Not sure if that is what you were claiming

Placement definitely matters. Someone may know that they can’t beat the top 2 from the other sectional so they need to get 2nd in their own sectional to avoid seeing those two guys, so it’s smart to try to get to the bottom side of the bracket to try to get to the finals to make your first round regional match easier.

With majority of the sectional brackets I’ve seen, it doesn’t matter. If you can’t place top 4 in sectionals what does it matter?

Yeah I have the ACCNet and will no doubt have it on but it ain’t the same. Have seen some of the Prime vids..they’re fine but dang this has become a Jan Friday tradition after 9 years. Guess I’ll drink....

There are a few situations like this where there are less than 8 kids between the two sectionals at the lower weights, so all are already qualified for regional after weigh-in and 1 or 2 will earn semi-state berths too this weekend. Every sectional participant in 7 weights at East Chicago and 6 weights at Shenandoah are automatically into regional.

Just looked and, predictably, there are only four 106s there either. Basically, they'll have a little 4-way battle for semi-state berths this weekend. Semi-final winners are into semi-state and conso winner is too! All 4 guys are having nice seasons so they or Kendra will deserve their spots at semi-state, but it's all so bizarre nonetheless.

It’s 113, but agree, that’s a really tough weight at Mooresville. Then the #4 seed out of that bunch will get #1 Logan Miller in Regional Rd. 1. Once again, Mooresville regional will send somebody good home early.

Not sure, but this thread doesn't need to be about personal information, just who's in and who's out. Information on some wrestlers may get out and if that's the case, fine. But I'm hoping this can be a resource for those learning who's not in, rather than a discussion about wrestler's person situations or god forbid, a covid discussion.

I agree that Billerman will dominate the entire tourney but on the other hand. Sam Bonez already graduated so i’m not gonna go with perry at heavy. sorry kevin prove me wrong
