  1. ‪Cody Matherly, a two-time Sectional and Regional Champion for Jeffersonville High School, will be taking his talents to Kentucky Wesleyan, a Division II college located in Owensboro, Kentucky. Cody had a combined record of 66-15 the last two seasons. As a junior, Cody made it to the round to go to State and as a senior he was ranked #8 in the Semi-State at 195lbs. ‪Since 2004, Cody Matherly makes the 41st Jeff wrestler making his college commitment; in the last decade, 2010-2020 – Jeff wrestling signed 24 commits.‬

  2. Coaches--I just spoke to Nate Naasz at NWCA. The Academic and Leadership/Character programs are officially run by the USMC. The NWCA compiles the information and sends it to the Marines for them to get the certificates. The program normally involves a U.S. Marine coming to the recipient's school to present the certificates. Since the Covid-19 lock down made that impossible I think the program was delayed. Nate has sent out the Scholar certificates (let me know if you have not received yours).Nate said he had contacted Col. Fallon who is in charge of recruiting in this area of the country. He has not heard back yet and will be speaking to him tonight and will ask again about the Leadership & Character certificates with hope of getting the issue resolved tonight. Sorry for the delay in getting these to you.

  3. This is a great trip to help get your young wrestler to the next level. Ty took this trip his 8th grade year and had a blast. I was amazed at his maturity level and his wrestling abilities when he got back. He went on to place at Pre-Season nationals and several other national tournaments in the months following. There was a great mixture of Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco and he wrestled some of the top tier kids in the country. Most of all, he really made some life-long friends that he still talks to today. It's such an awesome feeling to be at some of his college tournaments and run into one of his OASWT teammates. Ty was able to fund raise about 90% of his trip costs from the community and worked off the rest with chores around the house. He was able to see and do so many things across the country that it was a once in a lifetime experience. If you are interested, let me know and I can share more about our experiences. The only downside was a picture of his cauliflower ear in the middle of Utah somewhere.. mom wasn't happy, but Ty loved it!
