  1. I may not be following the questions. But I'll take a crack at it. 1. In a single class system, all individuals are equal. They are competing against other individuals. 2. A multi-class system is trying to alleviate advantages that a big school would have over a small school (for example, a larger pool of athletes to create the team). For those reasons, I am in favor of a classing the team aspect and not in favor of classing the individual.

  3. We are wanting to continue our show, possibly every other week or more just depending upon the time of the year. Since it is the off-season there is a lot less news and stuff going on so I want to bring on some guests. Who would you want to hear from? Are there any topics you would like to see Mike and I or someone else discuss? I am always up for ideas, so list them...the good and bad ones. Just a note, @3xStateChamp does not have Skype and thus cannot be on.

  4. Did you not read what I said or did you not understand it? I said pretty much the exact opposite. The 4A school should in fact be expected to advance more because they innately should have a better overall lineup. But as long as it closely follows the enrollment percentage difference then we are seeing what should be expected. Remember, we are talking individuals not schools. It should be expected that the bigger schools will do better. But I have not been talking about school success, I have been talking about individual athlete success. This is why many of us often state that is makes sense to class a team tournament, but that it is not needed & is even detrimental if the goal is to crown the best individual at each weight. It's just unfortunate that our team champion is determined from the individual tournament.

  5. We are talking about an individual tournament. The numbers don't seem to indicate that individuals from small schools are struggling. They are generally qualifying in same proportions we would expect based on the proportion of the enrollment that small schools have.

  6. No that is what you are inferring, which is severely flawed. To say that the 14 starters from a 1A school is equivalent to the 14 starters at a 4A school is grossly wrong. There are many wrestlers that are multi-year letterman at smaller schools that would have an extremely difficult time ever earning a varsity letter in wrestling at a larger school. If your logic is used, then a class system for a team tournament is not needed. No, what I am saying is that the enrollment numbers should be fairly indicative of the number of SQ'ers that should be seen from the different size schools. To only look at the raw numbers without considering the disparity in enrollment numbers is massively flawed. State Qualifier's Enrollment 4A - 41.1% 32.09% 3A - 25.4% 29.81% 2A - 23.7% 24.81% 1A - 9.8% 13.12% So as has already been stated, the 4A schools are out doing the enrollment numbers, but it is not as drastic as many believe.

  7. We do provide coverage of most if not all those events. We usually tweet all Indiana results from those events also.

  8. It would be so cool if you guys cover big off season tournaments like Central Regionals, fargo, flo nationals, and Disney Duals Just to name a few. I don't mean the whole tournaments i know that would be too much, im just talking about covering on the indiana wrestlers/teams

  9. It also lets those small school kids get more matches in. I get the level of competition for some of these schools is greatly lowered than those of the bigger schools. But it’s high school, I’m all for giving every opportunity to kids to go further in wrestling and education.

  13. Get some different perspectives: Established top program HS coach, up and coming young HS coaches turning around programs, small HS program growing the sport, representatives from different hotness of wrestling in the state, academy coach about youth progress, referee perspective, college coach of all divisions, college athlete about their recruitment process and season grind, women’s wrestling info, ISWA progress and future plans, IHSAA member on their insite into wrestlings future, a few shows about some of the historical moments and old timer stories, heck get some other states (GA, CO, etc.) on here to hear about how they have made progress over last 10 years, etc. It maybe nice for fans of the state series from some of the prior books about Indiana wrestling. Joe I know you have the same book I do, so there is plenty of info to pull from there to talk about. Not to mention getting someone’s to speak of the wrestling team dynasties of the past.

  16. Get together 2 or 3 of the guys from some of those great teams of the past like Mater Dei 2003 and let them talk about what their 4 years was like, where they went after HS and what they are up to now Maybe also track down some state winners from way back when 60s? 70s? and have them talk about what the wrestling world was like back in the old days

  19. Might get hated for this... but NOAH FREAKING HOLLENDONNER! DINGER! He might not be “the best” to never win state now, but if he decides to continue wrestling then in 4 years he’d be a conversation on a thread like this. Wrestled jv half the year two years ago, qualified last year (with 2 big upsets at semi state, and then made the STATE FINALS this year beating two top 5 ranked guys on the way. If the CP program was where it’s at NOW when Dinger was a freshman then I think Noah Hollendonner would be one of the top seniors in the stage right now.. if not the country. Call me crazy, but it’s just my opinion
