We are never happy with losses, but I am proud of him for bumping up and helping his team win this dual. The final score was 7-4. Jesse was winning 3-1 going in to the 3rd and got a little over zealous trying to get a fall and ended up giving up a reversal. After an escape he gave up a late take down with 19 seconds left in the match. With time expiring Jesse put himself in danger trying to get a reversal and gave up 2 near fall. On a positive note Crown Point held their own in Illinois beating OPRF and Dekalb. Full team effort with guys getting falls, bumping up, and in some cases guys just staying off their back. I can do a break down of all 3 duals, just not sure who the Illinois kids were in some matches.5 points

Dinger - that you took time to login here, correct the record and make sure your opponent got appropriate credit is more impressive than a win in my book. That kind of maturity is also why you are having a great senior year and poised for even more success after. Keep it up kid!!!!3 points -

No. Actually “us” referred to all the teams you guys think it’s cool to make fun of and talk bad on, thinking it makes you look better when it really doesn’t. You all are just getting mad because I pointed out that you guys lost to Southport at John Hurrle. It’s not that deep for you guys to be starting stuff with the other teams over.2 points -

So Jesse jumps up for competion and gets beat. That just shows he’s looking for the best comp and not concerned about losing. Still the best Indiana will ever have. Mendez won’t be challenged in state.2 points -

Dual started at 182, Dekalb started off winning first 4 with 3 pins and 1 dec (Dekalb was leading 21-0). After that Sammy Goin then pinned #16 kid in the country. Logan Frazier followed with a pin. Dekalb decided to forfeit to Riley Bettich following that (21-18). Stephen Roberson then won by decision over #7 ranked kid at 126 in IL, tying the dual. Jesse Mendez then won 21-7, followed my a cody Goodwin pin. Orlando Cruz decisioned his ranked opponent (34-21). Seth Willems gave up a major making the score 34-25. Noah Hollendonner then wrestled a fargo champ and lost 4-2 (34-28). The dual ended with nick Taborski giving up a decision resulting in a final score of 34-31, dogs win. In looking at the results of the CCC, Westfield had 8 wrestlers finish higher in placement to FC 6. One could assume that Westfield would win 8 of the 14 matches in a dual (with bonus points likely deciding the dual). Based off of this it makes sense to rank Westfield higher in dual rankings. Regardless it is great that FC is continuing to build their program.1 point -

Regardless, and call me crazy, but it’s just my opinion, but if not Southport, then Franklin Central should get some recognition for placing higher than Westfield at Capital City, considering Westfield is ranked #15 and FC is NR!1 point -
I had a guy from Paducah, sitting by us , and he was telling me that that was their whole team, most were 7 and 8th graders and a couple freshmen.. Didn’t ask any other questions after he said that1 point
