  1. Glad they are working on the important stuff.

  2. In all honesty does it really matter what’s on a headgear I remember when the no tape rule became a thing and it seemed ridiculous now having more than one logo on a headgear is gonna be a rule seems like there could be more important things to worry about

  3. This is what frustrates me. I can understand not wanting logos all over the uniforms, but headgear are generally purchased with the intent to hold up for a long time. If a team buys headgear for their whole team this year, and the rule changes again next year, wtf are they supposed to do?

  4. Next, wrestling shoes can only be red or green to match the ankle bands and only white socks no logos . Lots of confusion whos red and green . Making a lot of sense now that I’m thinking about it more and more . The Notorious

  5. What exactly is the point of this rule? Seems like a lot of extra paperwork.

  8. I have been asked recently by coaches, and have had some discussion with some officials about the new rule that went into effect this year about Headgear only having 1 manufacturers logo on them. The IHSAA recently told the officials that the new rule was going into effect despite the fact that Cliff Keen, Adidas, and Asics all had 2 logos on their headgear and that schools would have to mark logos out with a sharpie or cover them up with tape etc etc. Today I got word, through Adidas Wrestling, and saw a copy of a letter from the NFHS to Adidas Wrestling, that states the new rule would NOT be going into effect this season because the manufacturers of headgear have not had time to comply with the new rules. The information has been sent to the IHSAA. I assume they may notify everyone officially on this. If anybody has any questions, feel free to email me at eisports@sigecom.net Jeff Schaefer E.I. 9. If you're going by mascots in 3a, then I'd take the Warriors of Warren Central, or the Rebels of Roncalli. I'm not sure what a Brickie is? Is it a mason? Those guys are probably strong. However, if we look throughout all classes in the entire state...there is not a mascot that could withstand a train...So...Railroaders easily win everything if we're basing it on that...Not sure any of you have an argument... buttttt...I think I'll take Brownsburg in duals....and I'll be bold and take the DOGS of CP for IHSAA State

  10. I noticed this also and asked my AD This was brought up because of soccer player joining cross country team after they were eliminated from state tourney series (or vise versa). I was told that it is not about competing but more about being on the roster from day 1.

  11. More crybaby b.s. to hold back the sport. Stuff like this make me glad I'm not coaching now.

  12. I think that forfeits plays a big part in the health of the sport. We saw a lot of teams last year (us included) with rosters in the 2-8 range. A healthy wrestling state does not look like top teams having unprecedented success and the bottom third of teams struggling to fill half of their weight classes. At least not through the lens I am using.

  15. The kids only have four years, the coach has 50 years to coach a sectional. It's not like the kids can transfer to have a chance to play like the NCAA. This is a horrible decision that affects innocent parties.

  22. In his last two years in high school, Carson only gave up offensive points to one person here in Indiana. That was the in that pretty rough match Friday night his junior season (it was bad). With that said, he’s pretty tough to score on. He wrestled very conservatively this year at state. Just wanted the title. But... I personally think Rypel was ranked number one in the nation for a reason and has to be favored. Just honored to have my son be mentioned in this conversation after he has moved on. He’s really doing well at Ohio. Coaches have expressed that they really like him and he’s doing better then they even thought he would. Him Slivka and Mosconni all should be wrestling at the Michigan State open the first week of November. Saw all of them last week and they are all doing great! Bottom line.. our studs are moving on to D1 and doing great. It would be cool if Slivka and Mosconni would clean their room tho!
