  1. Definitely have. There’s a lot of mixed emotions about it......but it aligns with our goals in an awesome way! They’ve also adopted the UWW weight classes/age divisions. So that makes Silas a Cadet for both events. They’ll be some very tough kids to contend with, but we like Silas’ chances in having the opportunity to represent the US at Pan Am & UWW. Its almost redemption of sorts.....and on a grander scale so to speak. Silas likely would’ve won Cadet National Triple Crown last summer if not for the knee surgery after his Folkstyle Nats title. Very discouraging falling short of those goals due to circumstances outside of our control. So the opportunity he’s presented to compete within his age group at the World level this year.......genuinely feels like God’s reward for a certain level of “perseverance”. Looking forward to the possibilities this summer will bring.

  4. How about Todrank at 157? I know he is listed as 141/149 for Buffalo but he did score 2 on Nolf and instantly went viral. He may not win any matches but at least it would be entertaining.

Some parents pay 6 figures so their kid can go to a certain college...

  7. I think its the "whatever they can" part that I tend to disagree on. Moving to put your kid in a better academic school - totally understand. Moving to put your kid in a better wrestling school - in some terrible situations, maybe. Holding your kid back in 8th grade for the sole reason of having an age advantage over 99% of the other kids, that's where I start to wonder what the heck is going on. You can do too much for your kids also - like parents who do their kid's homework, give them every possible advantage at the cost of letting their kid figure it out. I would just encourage parents to think about the long term lesson in doing something like that.

  8. Another packed room tonight at the #BoneZone. Got guys from all over mixing it up. Littell had some awesome technique and everyone in attendance should add his misdirection duck to their repitoire. Had guys training both freestyle and folkstyle, if you’re training either be sure to stop in one of these days and check this room out. Be ready to roll next Thursday at 6 pm.

  9. We will have our 2 State Champs Asa Garcia and Carson Brewer as well as 4 time state qualifier Nathan Conley running some technique!! Come on out 6:00 - 7:30pm to get a great workout in. Enter Door 31 down the hallway wrestling room is on the left. PS. Conley and Garcia don't think anyone in the state can beat them at Spikeball (5:30 start) "Come Get Some"

  13. @Perseverance @Mattyb We have a wrestler, Joe Parrish, who is competing that weekend. His coaches aren't able to make the trip so if any of you could adopt him for the weekend and let him borrow a drill partner, it would be appreciated.

    Brock Hudkins

True. 93 career wins and 4 NCAA tournaments. Very solid career. I think sometimes his performances have felt maddening because he was a top 15 guy as a freshman and it was hard to pinpoint why he's struggled to get back to that. But you look up today and we're talking about a 4-time qualifier with several NCAA tourney wins and 10 B10 tourney wins. Much better than par for the course for IU's other weights in that period.

    Campbell sending 6

Oof...that's tough. It's true they got 6 through, but 3 are seeded in the 30s--meaning they're guys that probably got in because of the automatic bid the NCAA is required to give the very thin Southern Conference. Getting those two Top 15s and a Top 30 back in addition to the other returnees is nice--but it's still bottom 3 or 4 in the Big 10. It's basically Purdue, and maybe not quite as good. Purdue brings back 7 qualifiers that are all seeded 11-19 except for one 2-time qualifier seeded 30th. There is just such a giant difference between having 6 or 7 qualifiers seeded 10-30 than having 5 guys seeded top 15--which is what the top 6 or 8 Big 10 teams all have. Campbell's problem is the same as Purdue's right now. No matter how amazing your coaching, you have to be able to stockpile blue chip talent year over year to have any chance at top half of the Big 10.

Would love to see Hudkins go to IU. With that said... they better come with that cake. With that ncaa transfer portal, I bet kids like Hudkins are getting great offers!

I believe Moran is going to be training out at the olympic training center for a year before heading to IU to adjust to a college 125. Having Brock in the room with guys like jake and asa is going to be huge for them!

Why is this a debate ? @Matthew Nelson Said he did for the better of his Family. Doesn’t matter where, he made the best decision for kid(s). I did the same thing 12 years ago , Muncie to Avon . Gotta do what’s best for them . You posters wanna talk like he did something wrong . He moved his family like ***(175) MILES away*** Lol . Not like it’s 5 miles away or to a different neighborhood thats 15 mins away in Evansville.
