  1. Congratulations to Danny Irwin on coaching Wheeling Jesuit to a Runner-up finish in the Dii Nationals https://wjucardinals.com/news/2019/3/9/wrestling-national-championships.aspx?fbclid=IwAR0EtQMNJhMqBG3Ztg_aqiqaVDyYmqHUqFjujE04Causw4E-bD6vF0oAGiU

    Campbell sending 6

Little 3,500 student Campbell sending 6 to NCAAs. I’ve said it a ton of times. It is like no other college program that I’ve seen. Kolat is building a monster! Something that everyone should go see. I’m a huge fan!

Not sure why this matters to you. He moved his family 150 or more miles away to a better opportunity for him and his family. Not across town to Mater Dei or Memorial or Castle. Hard to argue that he isn't going to a better school and that his dad didn't get a better job. And maybe it was partially for a better wrestling opportunity too. Can you blame him? Maybe KT gets a scholarship to wrestle in college that he never would have gotten had he stayed at the same school in Evansville. Think about that. That move could change the kids life. Good for him for having the guts to go.

Why is this a debate ? @Matthew Nelson Said he did for the better of his Family. Doesn’t matter where, he made the best decision for kid(s). I did the same thing 12 years ago , Muncie to Avon . Gotta do what’s best for them . You posters wanna talk like he did something wrong . He moved his family like ***(175) MILES away*** Lol . Not like it’s 5 miles away or to a different neighborhood thats 15 mins away in Evansville.

If it’s happening, it’s a nice pickup at 125 for the Hoosiers. And at a weight they haven’t had consistency at lately. Plus this allows the younger Moran time to develop into a college 125, as well as, provide him with great practice partner as he make the transition. It would still be a good get at 133 to help create more competition for the 133 and 141 spots. But 125 is a big need for a year or two so hopefully he can still get down there.

A good parent will do whatever they can for their child to succeed. Kudos to Nelson for making the move as it was a calculated risk that has paid off, so far. I’d do the same.

You might be overstating it about the Mongolian Batkhishig. He was 0-6 against NCAA qualifiers this year and the only close-ish losses were twice to the #31 seed from Ohio. However, I TOTALLY forgot about Jere Heino at 285, the Finnish national teamer who redshirted this year and was a blood-rounder last year. That means 6 NCAA qualifiers with a blood rounder, a top 10 seed, and another 2-time qualifier sitting out the year. They seem to be in pretty good shape.

  10. It did seem odd that McKenna was so gassed at the end of their first match, so the illness theory seems to make sense anyway. And he (McKenna) had missed the previous match or two before the PSU meet. IMO, McKenna seems to control their matches more than Lee does, but it is close enough that Lee can definitely get it done.

Straight from the indystar. States Brownsburg has the best combined scores. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.indystar.com/amp/1507804002 Here is the link. Not sure a bad stat is the correct term. I believe it is all relevant, happy and lucky to be at one of the best schools in the state.

Can’t never go wrong for job advancement, but the schools in Evansville are not as bad as you may think. Evansville area schools have high marks as well. US news and world report has 2 Evansville area schools above Brownsburgh and 1 other not too far behind. That’s not including the Catholic Schooling which has very high academic and success rates. Crime rate as Matthew has stated is not even comparable. The Ville is getting bad. As a parent myself, it’s ultimatley my wife and I decision as to how we groom our boys. To those that wanna judge my parenting, I just let them fume over it as I know we did the best thing for them and our family.

  17. The step out isn't judgmental, it's pretty simple...if your foot steps out of bounds no matter the action the other guy gets a point. It's actually the easiest rule out there to interpret.

  19. Apples and oranges with argument above, the other schools take kids from something called a “school district.” When “our middle schools” encompass the greater Indianapolis area, there’s a difference, just saying... i grew up in Wabash County and wrestled at a small 1A school that fed into the Huntington North sectional and Ft Wayne regional never could get past Tony Roush... A lot of great wrestling in the late 80s and early 90s from that corner of the state! Really applaud what Jake O’Neill is building in Wabash. But, really glad I’ve lived in the Burg for the last 20 years and been a small part of the local club getting to see Drake, Drew, Logan, Griffin and Thierry and others become the wrestlers they are. Just a small community west of 465 in #thecounty

I second this. Cheaney is going to make some noise. A lot of noise. It wasn't fun at the time, but my 7th grade son got the "pleasure" of having his 3 man workout group often be him (a beginner), Logan Miller, and Cheaney. Obviously, he couldn't ask for better partners and he got WAY better...but got way better by having his face smashed into the mat repeatedly. LOL. It was not fun then but was pretty cool for him now watching Logan do his thing this year, and Cheaney will do the same next year.
