  1. Sounds more to me like you’re probably unaware of the process. Matches are paired using a formula between the 4 Regionals and their placements. I realize at times it may seem like certain kids receive better draws than others.....and honestly, they have. But it’s not because there is someone overseeing matters that ensures certain kids get an easier path, while others get the hard road. That’s why working hard and trying to secure a #1 seed is so important. I noticed you had just joined the site a couple weeks ago. So my response to you is based on helping you better understand the process a bit. And giving you the benefit of the doubt, that you’re not trying to create strife with a rival school. Because I can attest to the fact that the individuals I personally know from SD......spill their guts year round to be the best version of themselves possible, and deserve all the success and good fortune that comes their way. Hope this gives you some clarity.

  3. The top ranked 195lber in the state an our top Junior wrestler, Silas Allred, has committed to wrestle for Nebraska. Allred, hailing from Shenandoah just north of Indianapolis, will join four-time state champion Chad Red on the Husker roster. Allred is ranked anywhere from 5th-7th by all the national ranking services and atop 30 prospect for the class of 2020. Currently he sports a spectacular 90-2 record over his three years that includes a 5th place finish at state in 2018. His long list of national accolades includes placing 3rd at the Super 32 this past fall, a Cadet Folkstyle National title, and a 4th place finish in Cadet Greco-Roman. Allred had plenty of offers from many of the top programs in the country. The programs on his final list included state schools Purdue and Indiana along with North Carolina State and Maryland. Currently he is undecided on a major, but is leaning towards a business degree at Nebraska. Projecting at 197lbs for his collegiate career, Allred stated he was drawn to Lincoln for a plethora of reasons. “I chose Nebraska because it felt like home. After visiting a few colleges, no place made me feel even close to the way Nebraska did,” Allred said in response to his commitment. “I knew in my spirit the search was over. Not to mention the coaching staff and RTC is absolutely incredible. It is the perfect fit for my athletic and academic goals.” Good luck to Silas as he pursues not only his state goals, but national and international goals thi off-season. View full article

Just some info from us here at the Ford Center. I will be there all day Saturday, so if you have any problems, questions, or just want to say hi send me a PM. I will be checking messages periodically. I look forward to this event every year since it is no doubt the best event we host all year, but I may be biased. -Mark Parking and general information about the arena can be found at www.thefordcenter.com Wrestlers can enter the arena at 7:30am for weigh ins. Wrestlers and coaches will enter at the interior ticket office lobby (to the far right of the main lobby doors) to check in and head back. You will pick up your credentials here. The only coolers allowed are for wrestlers and must enter at the check in table through the interior ticket lobby. Coolers must then be taken in to the hospitality room or the surrounding hallways and stay out of the general public areas at all times. Please don't abuse this, we would hate to have to ban coolers in the future. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK for anyone else is allowed inside unfortunately. Not my rules, just standard building policy. Public doors open at 8:00am CST. Enter on Main Street through the main lobby. We will look to create a separate door/entrance for those that already have tickets. There is NO onsite parking. Please do not have any team vehicles attempt to park in the loading dock or attached outer lot. These are reserved spots. There is no public Wi-Fi. Tickets are $10 cash at the door. Premium loge seats are available for purchase now and on event day: They are $40 pre-event at the Ford Center ticket office. This includes one entry in to the arena, a nice reserved seat at the top of the lower bowl, and $20 worth of food vouchers you can use at the concession stands. They are $30 once you get in the door (obviously doesn't include your entry ticket since you will already be inside) available first come first serve, cash only, at our guest service location near section 101 on the concourse. This includes a reserved seat in the loge area and $10 in food vouchers. There is an ATM in the lobby if you need to get some cash out. Please do not jump over the dasher walls to access the floor. They try to control access to the floor, so you need to enter from the lower level hallway under section 103. I like the boys that literally jump the wall over the sign and tear it down in the process. You wouldn't jump the wall at Banker's Life would you? The hospitality room for officials, etc. will be in the Corner Club. Enter from the main lobby and hang a right at lower level hallway. If you are going to set up a camera please do not have the cord running across the aisle. You will be made to unplug any cords running across an aisle. We will have full concessions available throughout the day. Coffee and hot chocolate are also available all day as well. (get the bbq pork nachos, huge and awesome) There is no smoking on or in the Ford Center property, this includes e-cigarettes. Brackets will be updated throughout the day and posted on several of the 170 or so TVs located all over the arena. The brackets end up kind of small, but hey, they are everywhere and pretty cool. Lastly,if you are a wrestler that loses please don't kick, throw,or punch Ford Center property. We have sent a bill for damaged property in the past.

  5. Congrats my friend! So much respect for you and your family. Your an awesome wrestler but your faith, respect and character is what makes you such an amazing young man. I have enjoyed so much getting to watch you and get to know you on the national trips and teams. You will do fantastic. Congrats again

  7. Concur. The lack of activity for the ECSS thread has to support your thesis. Yikes..the Penn regional has fallen to the depths of Logansport!!!! BTW where is the @unknown wrestler?? Where is @KarlHungus preview from the cinder block walls of Culver? No wonder da Rat retired and moved away. Come to think of it, there has not even been a Dude-low radio spot with @ontherise219 this year. My how the mighty have fallen. Hopefully from the ashes thou shalt rise.

    From 22-16 to 31-1

Tristan Ruhlman from Bloomington South went 22-16 last year and lost first round of regionals. This year, he is 31-1 at 160 and has wins over #7 @ 152 Conley 3-1, previously ranked Sollars 6-2, an #7 Singleton 8-3, fall over # 20 Doane, and #16 Schank 9-3. Tristan's only loss is to #4 Pruett 3-4. Now, Tristan will have to beat a game Sollars again in the ticket round so I am not saying he is a lock but very impressed with his improvement. What gives? Seems like he got serious about wrestling and turned it up a notch..or several notches. Who else has improved drastically like this?

  11. $10 for a spectacular event $5 for a bottle water(rip off). So be sure to drink a plethora of water of a beverage of your choosing before entering. BBQ pulled pork nachos $9.50 but they’re good and a portion goes to a good cause I do believe. Or get FCFighters favorite: fries and chicken strips.

  13. Free ...... Sleeper Pick Mooresville 126- Breken Greene I picked him to go to State on 2 things . 1. Went through his results last week at Regionals. He went 3 periods (5-3) loss with a 2x State Champ Brayden Curtis that told me the kid has desire, heart . So he can wrestle with the best of them on the mat. 2. He’s pretty good, watched a couple matches at Regionals. He comes in as a 3 seed a underdog in a pretty loaded 126 bracket, asked myself what if he comes in with that same desire at the Ford Center he showed vs. Curtis . Has nothing to lose. Little things like that caught my eye about this Champ . Keep a eye on this kid this Saturday. The Notorious

  21. State ranked kids they will probably face to advance to BLF 106 — vs #9, then #5 120 — vs #5 132 — vs #2 145 — vs #20 152 — vs unranked, Good draw 220 — vs #16, then #4 So you consider that a good draw for the South Dearborn wrestlers? Wow.

  23. In my opinion, the regional / semistate / state sites with 4 mats should assign mats based on the bracket. Then if 1 mat finishes early while the others are 2 or 3 behind, then you move a few of the big boys' matches to that mat. It's probably easier for the wrestlers to know which mat they will be on & just focus on where they're at. Plus, parents can be prepared & don't have to scamper all over the gym to get a good view & take pics.

  24. After MS state we have quickly finalized the teams with firm commitments from all of the below kids to finalize the rosters. It should be noted that this is the quickest we have gotten all commitments locked down and to my recollection the most 1st and 2nd place finishers to make up the teams. I have to admit I was skeptical about the early weigh ins affecting this and it appears it had no affect on getting the best kids to participate in the Team IN teams for Heartland Duals so to Center Grove people I say thank you for all you have done to make this years MS state a success. With that being said here are the MS teams: GOLD BLUE 75 Tye Linser Isaac Ash 80 Seth Syra Jairo Acuna 85 Preston Haines Evan Seng 90 Coy Hammack Bryce Denton 95 Blake Wolf Gavin Whitehead 102 Cheaney Schoeff Hayden Brady 110 Sergio Lemley Cole Solomey 117 Lane Gilbert Jeb Prechtel 125 Hunter May AJ Cashman 132 Kaden Lone Reed Brandenburg 140 Drew Mills Makai Smith 150 John Purdy Cody Goodwin 160 AJ Steenbeke Cael Albaugh 175 Seth Willems Van Skinner 195 Leighton Jones Royce Deckard 220 Greg Johnson Sam Mossoney 275 Richie Pena Edgar Decker Coaches: Sean Schmaltz Tyson Skinner Trent Worden Wyatt Seng

  25. Wow, the Big10 conference schedule is not boring is it? Talk about a great match up. 125 - Hunter Lucas/Devin Schnupp (neither are ranked - edge OSU) 133 - #6 Pletcher/#15 Roman Bravo-Young (RBY injury? - edge OSU) 141 - #2 McKenna/#5 Lee (this will let us know exactly where Lee is, edge OSU) 149 - #3 Micah Jordan/#11 Brady Berge (is Berge ready, edge OSU) 157 - #6 Ke-Shawn Hayes/#1 Nolf (likely bonus points, edge PSU) 165 - #12 Te'Shan Campbell/#1 Joseph (can Joseph get bonus points?, edge PSU) 174 - #18 Ethan Smith/#1 Hall (likely bonus points, edge PSU) 184 - #1 Martin/#3 Rasheed (can Rasheed shock here, edge OSU) 197 - #2 Moore/#1 Nickal (WOW just WOW, I have to give the edge to PSU) 285 - #19 Singletary/#3 Cassar (possible bonus points, edge PSU) So, I have the edge to PSU in 5 & to OSU in 5. Bonus points, injuries & wrestler availability will play a role. McKenna did not wrestle in either of OSU's meets this past weekend. If RBY is unable to go (or does but is less than 100%) OSU has a chance at bonus points. If Berge is not ready, Jordan can get bonus points (maybe even against Berge?). Nolf, Joseph & Hall could all record bonus points. Bonus points is a possibility for Cassar. 184 & 197 will be worth the price of admission alone. These two matches could very well be the deciding factors. Can Rasheed & Moore pull off the slight upsets? Can Martin & Nickal pick up unexpected bonus points? Ohio State was beat by Michigan, but they are a tougher matchup for Penn State than Michigan was (IMO).

  26. I just looked at Maligned's sectional and regional quota ratings by sectional and regional. Those ratings are based a genius index from head to head dual results and tournament results. My conclusion based on those results is that the Region is way down as is the whole ECC. Here's the data: ECC didn't have any 5 rated sectionals. They had (3) four rated sectionals which were Laf Jeff, Plymouth and Portage. They had (5) three ratings: Crown Point, ECC, LaPorte,Mishawaka and Twin Lakes. 5 of 11 three rated sectionals come from ECC. Its get worse with Regional categories: All 4 of the Regionals (Logan, Crown Point, Penn and Hobart) are rated 3s and that's on scale to 6. Mooresville was a 6. There's a total of 6 number 3 rated regionals and 4 are out ECC. The Peru regional which has traditionally weaker, was a tougher Regioanal than every ECC. So whats going on in the ECC and the Region?? Sure, there's still some very good individuals but they didn't compete well with the rest of the state this year. Might see similar results at the State tournament. No wonder why we haven't heard from "Da Region Rat" as much. He might have to rent the mini version of the Brinks truck this year because isn't going to be as big. C. CATEGORY ASSIGNMENTS for tournament sites for 2019 are as follows: Sectionals and Assigned Categories Regional Categories Avon 5 Moorsvll 5 Plymth 4 ECC 3 Moorsvil 6 JayCo 4 Bl. Babcock is a diamond in the rough. I tried to get him to travel to Virginia Beach a few years ago with Contenders WA MS team and they felt like they were not ready for that type of a trip just yet, but I knew after looking at him in person and seeing him wrestle some matches at Winter Nationals he was more than ready and would make for a great wrestler. Good Job kid and good luck going forward.

This is reason why I did a 180 and went with Sig picks .

  36. The fact that Gibson Southern is bringing the 6th most wrestlers to the Eve SS behind only Avon, Bloom South, Brownsburg, Columbus East and Mater Dei is super impressive! They have picked up a new fan in me and I noticed that they only had 3 seniors out of the nine wrestlers they brought to the regional Saturday (8 of whom will be at the Ford Center this weekend). Tell me they wouldn’t have done some damage at team state this year in 2A.

  40. Ah sarcasm. We've each used numbers to reach a conclusion. I guess we've just interpreted them differently. New Castle has always been one of the top 2 semi states and is again this year. I just happen to think Evansville is a little better this year because of the #'s I used. Feel free to continue using #'s in your reasoning, but remember these are all opinions and not "factual".
