The team race should be between teams, Greencastle, Edgewood and Indian Creek. Both Greencastle and Edgewood have nine wrestlers seeded 1-4 and Indian Creek is close behind with eight wrestlers seeded 1-4. Edgewood holds the lead with four #1 seeds and Greencastle with three #1’s and Indian Creek with two #1’s. This tournament will be won (or lost) in the wrestle-back. Change is hard for most at first, especially in this state. (Think, we almost have alcohol sales on Sundays coming) I was unsure how I would like the two piece uniforms. Our team does not have any, and I've only seen a handful of teams this season that is sporting them. After one season, there really isn't going to be enough data to see how it effects participation in the sport. But if this is something that is going to benefit the sport than I completely support it. It's not 1970 anymore, times have changed, kids have been raised differently (not a good thing), and the fan base is constantly changing. Whether a kid is wrestling in shorts, or a singlet...it's still wrestling.

I realize this is probably due to multiple state titles, but participation at the 2 Brownsburg Middle Schools is up considerably. This year the 2 piece was "marketed" to all the boys and the wrestling team at one of the middle schools is double it's size compared to last year. I think it makes a huge difference, especially to middle-schoolers that are good athletes but did not grow up in the sport...and the idea of the singlet is pretty intimidating at that age. There's a whole lot of newbies in the room now and I have to think the 2 piece uniform plays some part in their decision.

The meet also features the first appearance at home for Nick Lee, who came out of redshirt status last weekend and enters the rankings this week at #7 on Intermat and #8 on Flo. Nick is 16-3 on the year including his unattached schedule. He has scored bonus points in all but one win. He'll face Nate Limmex who defeated Chad Red last week. I know comparative scores aren't reliable, but you can bet many will be watching to see how Nick does against him. 145 should be a good battle. Redd, Humbert, and Otto!! Redd is a SQ and is the #3seed. He will wrestle Otto #2 seed in the semifinals. Otto beat Redd 11-3 at the begining of the season. Humbert #1 seed has a win over Otto 4-3. Redd with a Fall over Humbert. Green could cause Humbert some trouble, depends what Green shows up to wrestle. 132 Negandgard Vs Boogs should be a fight 138 Wolf Vs Walton should be good also!

Mikes so mad that he posted rankings at noon yesterday...great wrestling....meet had some...hiccups but Coach Coopers team brought their best it was awesome and I am happy we were able to get it done. Hope Cayden gets better soon awesome kid and i know its killing him not being out there

I’ve always been a fan of central wrestling; not a fan of their gym. It’s dark, dated and the seats are far removed from the action. whats wrong with a north sectional? Terrible decicision to move the regional.

Cade Rooks is getting over an illness. Believe me, he would have loved nothing more than being able to compete against Brownsburg. Good dual tonight. Thanks to Brownsburg for being willing to switch the date on late notice and coming down to compete. Fantastic team.

We left a kid at Tournament of Champions one year b/c we had all made weight and he hadn't, we all go eat and come back and our coach has him check his weight....he had gained weight since we left. Come to find out he was getting a drink every lap b/c he was thirsty.

Im for anything thats helps hide the "junk" ...or "no junk" in my case ! ; )

We had a kid burn his mom's house down and he was arrested so he didn't make it to practice. Head coach still tries to convince me it was my fault because i moved practice time ahead an hour (Christmas break morning practice) and he didn't want to get out of bed so he started the house on fire. Seriously.

1. A person's weight can fluctuate by 5+lbs a day, which is much greater than the weight allowed to lose per week. 2. Most kids will lose 2-6lbs in a standard practice, again more than they are allowed to lose in a week. 3. I promise you most kids routinely lose more than 1.5% when they start the week.

Wow, that is just terrible. With his lineage and AAU success, he is the one of the primary wrestlers that shepherded in the modern era of Indiana Wrestling that we can be thankful for today.His success at Delta, love them or hate them, raised the bar of the state tournament excitement giving you guys like Ginther, etc. Guys like Palmer brought the wrestling year round mantra to the forefront. He was the equivalent then, of today's Andrew Howe. World Champ, beast, made it out of Indiana to the highest stage in Oklahoma, but had some injury issues that hampered him. That, and having Mark Schultz and Dan Chaid in the room at OU. If the IHSAA or Coaches assocation doesn't do an award after this man, it would be criminal. Cancer sucks.
