    Brennen Cernus Transfer

I'm Brennen's father. I received a text from a parent who's son attends Culver regarding this post and the comments made by AdamscoBuschhh. Just to clear the air you don't know me and we never met prior to the finals. I have no idea who you are or why you felt obligated to completely fabricate a post like this. We were in our hotel room between the break prior to finals and my dad doesn't even drink. Anyone that has been around my son knows that he is a quiet, respectful, and focused young man that is a hard worker. I truly feel sorry for you that you would make false statements aimed at a 15yr. old, its pathetic. My name is TJ Cernus, I'd like to know your real name as well. Moving forward, feel free to contact me directly so you can direct your false statements towards me rather than my son. Culver is not a military academy for kids with disciplinary issues. Any one with half a brain would already know this. If they did they would be gone in less than a month, the school has zero tolerance for this. It has military structure however it is not what would be considered rigid. Wyoming Seminary was initially our first school of choice last year prior to enrolling at Culver. We ended up choosing Culver because it was much closer to home and there were a few other families that we are friends with whose son's were also attending. We left Culver because the head coach was not what he portrayed himself or the program to be. There was no direction for the program. It was very unorganized, undisciplined, and there was a severe lack of technical coaching ability. Josh Harper was later added to the staff, he was the reason we decided to stay this past year. Josh was solid, he was intense, a good motivator, and he was there to make everyone better, he cared. Culver is an excellent academic academy and we were disappointed to leave. It was not an easy decision. Academics are our top priority and we expected to have a good balance with wrestling as well, unfortunately that was not the case. 1prouddad, thank you for your comment, we greatly appreciate it. Indiana puts on a great state tournament and we were proud to be able to be a part of it. My son and our family received an outpouring of support from complete strangers during the course of the season and this is rare. Indiana is very much like Ohio, the wrestling community is a pretty tight knit group that for the most part supports one another. There were numerous people who congratulated Brennen and our family after the finals that were genuinely happy for him. This will be an experience that we will never forget. Thank you Indiana. Best of luck.

This is true there is only 1 wrestler per weight for both styles. Sunday will be the freestyle portion. If anyone wants to watch, wrestling begins at 11:30 central time and then finals at 6pm. To watch go on Facebook and look up 2019 Team USA Cadet Pan Am Team group. There is a mom that goes live with all the matches, plus you can watch today’s matches. Thank you to all wrestling families that donated and helped give Jesse this opportunity. We had families from all corners of Indiana help in some way. Also thank you to all the coaches that passed on some of their wrestling knowledge to my guy.

    Jesse Mendez

IU is on the upswing. Angel is a better coach, mentor, motivator, leader, etc. than Goldman ever was so it's trending in the right direction. Mendez could do things at IU that have never been done; the same can't be said for Iowa. Hopefully he sees that as a selling point, but I'll be a fan wherever he goes...in three years.

Well...I don’t know the stories, but I do know the school was called CMA for the longest time, which stands for Culver Military Academy. I’ve only got a quarter of a brain...sorry...and you just bashed (PUBLICLY) on a head coach and a program. Not cool. Do that in a garage somewhere with your buddies...not publicly. I am sorry that I’ve edited this post multiple times, but I want to to be classy. I hope your son does extremely well and wins some huge titles, but I just don’t think public bashing is appropriate towards a coach, or his program. Best of luck in the future endeavors!

Micic gets silver at European Games

Stevan Micic just picked up a silver medal yesterday representing Serbia at the European Games (continental games in the olympic tradition). All the big European nations brought their best guys, so his weight was very solid. His biggest win was over the European champion and World bronze medalist Atli of Turkey in the quarterfinals. Stevan is very much a medal threat for worlds this year and the Olympics next year.

He was already a stud, but what a break out year he has has in the national level this year. And now showing his internationally ability too. Way to keep to keep stepping up and pushing yourself rather than be satisfied with the clout he already had. If I recall correctly the US only ended up sending one Cadet representative to PanAm’s to participate in both style. So he still has Freestyle yet to go.

Mt Vernon took a team for the first time, all MV kids. We forfeited 195 all tourney. Went 6-4, loosing 3 duals by 3 points and 1 by 6 I think. Had 2 8th graders and 5 freshmen in the lineup. After loosing all those heartbreakers in our pool, we bounced back and won the bronze bracket. Finished with 8 AA’s! Had a blast, learned a lot! We’ll be back!

Bro... that was brrruuuutttallll. The scary thing is that they highland prep were missing a couple studs. They are pretty good! The Burg is going to finish top 4. I think dead mouse and Warren will end up battling for 5th. Btw... our 182 keeps getting forfeits! Also.... there is a brotherhood feel with all the Indiana teams down here. Pretty awesome community we have!

We lost in the finals 33-24. Came down to the last match...our 220 was just going for the pin, sacrificed a win for himself to try to help the team win. Extremely proud of him and this team! Again, Lake Highland Prep is a not a normal school...they are a prep school.

Indiana cornbrawlers have definitely took their lumps as a team, but we have learned so much and have a had great time together. Been a great experience in our first time down. Multiple guys still have a chance for all- American honors including: Elijah Anthony, Harper Dedman, Aidan Hardcastle, Jett Thompson, Fred Durben and Logan Swallow.

Congrats to our Indiana Outlaws for getting 4th out of 60 teams and winning the copper trophy. Led predominately by Cathedral Irish wrestlers, the Outlaws had 2 undefeated Gold All-Americans in Jordan Slivka and Center Grove’s Breyden Littell. Silver All-Americans with one loss were Zeke Seltzer and Alex Mosconi. Roncalli’s Alec Viduya becomes Copper All-American. Congrats to all Indiana teams and wrestlers. It looks like this great state had number of teams that were very competitive.

Is Culver turning into an underclassman prep school to help gain entrance into a different prep school?

upon further review I watched it 10x straight af realized he did have Joe's arm encircled and was just running a heavy front headlock but Joe didn't circle with him and by him fighting it, it made the front head tighter and u can see joe tap as hes losing consciousness but the ref was on the other side..I thought the kid didn't have the arm and I was wrong and didn't know what I was looking at lol...It ws a damn good front head lock

IndianaMat Silver didn't do as well as the boys would have liked in the All Star Division but they did have four young men receive All American honors: Giovanni Diaz (120), Hunter Cottingham (132), David Page (145), and Chase Leeper (285). Thanks IndianaMat for the opportunity to wrestle and a special thanks to the coaches that dedicated their time to the boys!

Avon Brownsburg and Warren all look like they should win our pools. There is 6 pools. I would say that is a pretty solid showing!!! Two rounds of pool today and let’s hope that these teams are separated in the gold pool and bring home a 1-2-3 finish!
