HCCOACH
He has a serious knee injury. Weight is not the issue. It is sad that he is not able to compete in this year's Olympics. This was not an easy descicion to make. MUSKEEWRESTLER and Dingo Brigade
LJB
what is sad is Serbia not weighing in any of their wrestlers for the last 2 years at worlds... what is even more sad is a legitimate 57kg wrestler was denied his rightful spot at Paris because of shenanigans... Not too sure about shenanigans, but Micic is the reigning 57kg world Champ. He earned his way there and it's unlikely that whichever person would've replaced him would be a medal threat. It's disappointing on many levels, but Micic doesn't deserve any flak for getting injured training for the biggest stage in the world. LJB
100% shenanigans... talked to a guy in the greco weigh in line at 22... every serbian greco guy got out of line and went into a separate room and then left the weigh ins... we have seen micic looking like a ghost making 57kg internationally before years ago... he looked sucked down making 33 during college... he walked out his first match last year at worlds on full feed and was comically larger than everyone he wrestled with full gas tank... "beat" 3 world champs... he was never going to make 57kg at paris and do anything but the same thing he did at tokyo... if he in fact does have an injury then i wish him well in his recovery... but... it does not change what happened in serbia... Dingo Brigade
No offense, but it sounds like sour grapes a little bit. If there was a shred of evidence that Serbia and/or Micic cheated last year, he would be stripped of his gold. Serbia doesn't have some kind of sinister control over international wrestling. Micic is a good sport, a true sportsman, he's not going to intentionally deny someone else a spot in the Olympics unless he's injured. It sounds like you know some people who participated in the world Championships last year, but don't present rumor as fact without evidence. Dingo Brigade
Elor went down almost 10 lbs and still boat-raced the entire field. If she can stay healthy...Hard to imagine her potential ceiling. 20 years old!!!

No sour grapes at all… I am a Greco guy… The weigh in shenanigans in Serbia were widely know and publicly called out by competitors… it is not unusual at all for home country shenanigans… it happens frequently internationally… but… The IOC cannot so easily be circumvented… yes… there has not been a world or Olympic championship that I did not know someone personally there for a long time… It is no less a rumor he that he made 57kg scratch than it is he obviously did not… I have been watching that kid since he was in high school… when he walked out for his match at worlds both the boy and I busted out laughing… Whatever… you are welcome to believe whatever you want, it is your prerogative… I don’t argue religion or politics either…
Dingo Brigade
I won't question your bonafides, but are you saying Viktor Nemes is a cheat too? You mentioned Serbia in your accusations, so is it all Serbian wrestlers, or just Micic? You also acknowledge home cooking is common for host countries but seem to have a special dislike for Serbia and Micic. I've been watching Micic since he was barely a teen, too, and he's had weight cut challenges but that is incredibly common and people do have exceptional camps in preparation at points in their careers as well. If he benefitted from home hijinx at Worlds, that sucks, but every event has its oddities. Micic has always been a badass and it's crazy to think he's lying about an injury. I respect your opinion and I respect you not making it personal
LJB
Definitely every Serbian wrestler at the last two world championships were not required to make scratch… I have nothing against Serbia or any athlete that represents them… had a man crush datunashvili for years… the oldest went up to him at Thor Masters last year and introduced himself with, “ my dad has a crush on you”… they partied all night together… I will even admit that my younger son has benefitted from a say-in while competing in a tourney in the Netherlands this spring scheduled to weigh in 4 days after winning the Tallin Open in Estonia… he was there as a guest of the organizer and they made it easier on him… I did not and still don’t feel especially great about it, but, I was on the other side of the planet and had no voice in the matter… none of it changes the reality of what happened in Serbia and what isn’t going to happen in Paris… Edited August 6 by LJB Dingo Brigade

I find it extremely hard to believe that if Serbian wrestlers were allowed to avoid the weigh-in process that no country formally protested. Home country shenanigans happen frequently? Again I find it very difficult to believe that this is allowed to happen. It is only rumor that Micic made weight? If your allogations are true that the Serbian wrestlers were allowed to avoid the official weigh-in process then I guess you are correct. But once again I find this absurdly hard to believe. HCCOACH
My son Paul is Stevans training partner and has been with Stevan in Europe for the last 3 weeks. Stevans knee injury is legate. He would have made weight with his weight cutting regiment. For you to make allegations against him is absurd. You have the right to your own opinion, even if it is wrong. He is crushed that he could not compete and fulfill his lifelong dream of become an Olympic champion... LJB
again... look at the enitre serbian teams results... komarov does not even get pulled into repechage... tibilov loses first match and no repechage... nemes loses both of his matches off the scale badly... kajaia loses first match off the scale and no repechage... what is the common theme? scratch weight outside of serbia... Dingo Brigade
Bro, your 'source' has been caught lying in the past. Tons of people called him out for his lies and speculative BS. Like you, a bunch of talk without any proof. In the scientific field, we like to say correlation does not equal causation. How does the Illuminati explain Micic's silver in Minsk at 57kg, his gold at Warsaw at 57kg. Medals at Rome, Oran, Tarragona...there are more....you guessed it, all at 57kg? I'm sure the deep Serbian State made those results happen as well. If you're going to accuse people of cheating, maybe provide some evidence other than third-hand gossip. You seem to lob this crap around for some reason and one or two pariah posters in Iowa echo your crap, but its all nonsense without evidence. I hope no one in your orbit takes you seriously because this is pretty bush MUSKEEWRESTLER
