New Castle Breakdown:

North Montgomery Regional: 18 qualifiers

Pendleton Heights Regional: 15 qualifiers

Perry Meridian Regional: 16 qualifiers

Richmond Regional: 7 qualifiers

Interesting Notes:

-Cathedral qualified 6 of the 15 from Pendleton, no other team qualified more than 3 from that regional (Mt. Vernon)

-Between Warren Central (5) and Perry Meridian (4) you have 9 of the 16 from Perry Meridian's Regional

-New Castle had 3 of the 7 from Richmond, nobody else had more than 1.

-North Mont was split pretty evenly amongst Zionsville (4), Carmel (3), HSE (3), Westfield (3) to make up 13 of their 18.

No one comes close to 29, Mooresville Regional represents half of the kids going to State from the Evansville Semi State.

After a quick run through of the brackets it looks like Mooresville Regional advanced 43 of 56 wrestlers to ticket round.  Only 5 of the Semi State qualifiers from the mooresville regional were eliminated by "non state qualifiers"

That is insane. I know Quinn and I have had this conversation before, but it seems like some realignment would be pertinent in that Regional.

That is impressive, but 21 of the 29 qualifiers came from just 2 schools - Brownsburg & Center Grove.

The Mooresville Regional was blessed with 2 of the very best teams in the state.

CP Regional has 5 locks (my opinion) for state champs and have a realistic (somewhat) shot at 10.  Should have 11 in the finals with some potentially facing each other.

Locks

126 Frazier

145 Torres or Bahl  ( I fully get Bahl first has to get through Krejsa first)

160 Goin

182 Cruz

220 Clark

Realistic shot

113 Jendreas - His first state title match comes in the 2nd round against Haines. The winner of this match will have their second state title match against LaRocca under the lights.

120 Jackson - Can't wait to watch Jackson and Hockaday under the lights.  To me this is a toss up match.

138 Solomey or Huyvaert - This entire weight class is a toss up.

170 Goodwin

285 Clark - Has to get by Jones first which he hasn't been able to do the last two meetings.  Wish this match up was under the lights.

**** @GenHeavyHandz I fully understand if you disagree with my lock at 182 and I respect the disagreement.  If Veazy and Cruz make it under the lights, we all win.  We get to watch 2 elite wrestlers battle for the right to have their hand raised under the lights.  I would pay twice the price of admission just to watch this match.

What's even more impressive is Center Grove brought 12 to Evansville and left with 12 qualified for State. I don't remember any school doing anything of that magnitude.  Sure, Mater Dei has qualified 14 for Semi State before, and got 7 or 8 through to state,  but 12 for 12 is very impressive.

This CG team is pretty special, and the coaching staff has these kids dialed in.  It's going to be a fun weekend for CG wrestling.

Don’t be sleeping on Krejsa. That kid continues to get better each match.

They've wrestled twice. Veazy winning in Freestyle, Cruz winning a close match in the Finals of The Al.  I wouldn't call that a lock. But I won't give you heat for going with your guys like people do me. Good luck to your people.
