State 2023 Questions

Any word on whether or not things will be back to normal for Friday night, such as having 1 session, rather than 2?

And buying tickets for Saturday? Will they still be online Friday, supposedly 10 pm, and #ticketgate breaks loose again and people can't buy tickets for hours?

Will the elevator get crammed full at the Hyatt Place again?

I’m still hoping the IHSAA puts some focus on the 2024 finals location really soon. With over a year out they can likely work with a good venue to reach an agreement that can still give the qualifiers a solid experience.

Is it not at Bainbridge anymore?

Didn't Faulkins say that we will do a parade with everyone this year, not just the lower weights? I thought he mentioned at the clinic that they won't clear the arena just take a break and then have round 2 after an intermission.

Did he mention whether any other IHSAA state tournaments take place in the middle of a work/school day?

I believe Girls golf takes place on a Thursday and Friday. Our girls golf team made it and Im pretty sure they left for state Thursday morning and started competing while school was still in session.

It’s actually Friday to Saturday, but I believe they are given course walk through time the day prior.

The real questions is how does someone so disconnected and lost from our sport like faulkins (note lower case cause he doesn't deserve capital letter) become so powerful in decision making and everyone falls in line.  too bad we can't elect our wrestling state representative, cause the guy we have sucks; really hope he reads this and decides to retire.......

Let’s get this going again.. looks like tickets go on sale the Tuesday and Wednesday before State at 10am both days. All Session tickets for Friday and Saturday look to be on the table.

What is the max amount of tickets one can purchase?

If you have a qualifier, do they get first dibs on tickets? If they lose Friday night, do they need a ticket for Saturday?

Commissioner Faulkens stated on the podcast that everyone will participate in the parade of champions,  they have shortened the break between sessions, and a change to the layout of the mats to bring the fans in closer.  Basically state will have a different look this year. And improved on things from past years.

A layout change sounds interesting, I wonder what that will look like.
