Jay Co. Regionals

I think the real question is does Belmont win regional?

Does Dull finally get curries number?
Does Johns get pushed at 106?

Who doesn’t advance at 138 since it’s such a meat grinder?

I think the Jay co sectional dominates the incoming sectional and has 12 out of the 14 champs!

Biggest question is what officials are being assigned & how many misconduct warnings, points, & ejections are possible.

It would be wise for the AD for Jay co to not have the same ones, just my two cents. Im sure the place would erupt and I could see the Patriot statue being taken down.. 😂😂

would love to see some of you jokers  give reffing a try. lets put you on the mat, your son or daughter in the stands, then let Bellmont parents say nasty personal things toward a person they dont know. calling someone a fat *** ** a ***** if front of that officials children.

That probably doesn’t happen if said official didn’t make the worst call everyone in that gym had ever seen. I’m not saying it’s easy, I’m not saying that behavior is acceptable. I am just asking that they do better.

I have reffed some matches/tournaments.. I didn’t find it fun or enjoyable for a source of income for my life. That doesn’t excuse fans/parents! No room for that 100% agree!

Ultimately it is a job and knowing rules or making the right calls is part of any job. If you don’t believe me I’ve got an application I can send you!

how dare someone not be perfect.  idiot humans.

No one is condoning bad behavior. The issue is the official had history similar to this prior with the same coaching staff. I'm an AC fan, so it was a benefit for the school I follow, but it was a bad call. (Not going to find much love for the Bellmont fans & coaching staff from me, but I will wish their wrestlers best of luck because they are local kids.) My issue is more with the system (IHSAA) & lack of technology being used today. Since it's hard to get officials, it wouldn't hurt to get technology to review calls. If you can stream a webcast and have at least 1 if not 2 radio stations broadcasting, then you can surely have replay. If you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of the IHSAA, OHSAA, & NFHS as a whole. A lot could be done to move into the 21st century in their regards.

Sleeping a lot on some of the Yorktown and Delta kids. Both schools are back on the rise with good young coaches! They’ll be a problem going forward!

I agree! Give Cody maybe a year or two more and they are a huge threat to Belmont!

It won’t be just them…Yorktown is right there with them as the sectional score was 208-204 and easily could have gone the other way. I believe next year delta and Yorktown will battle for the regional championship. If somethings happen this year don’t count them out

Bellmont would have smashed AC in team score at Sectional if they weren't missing 2 high ranked starters and the Faurote match ended like it should.  Not sure why their HWT doesn't attack the legs.  He's a very athletic kid but uses his upper body strength instead of going legs.  He should have won it Saturday too.

With that said, they're very Senior loaded this year.  They might have a down year or two coming at them but they have some great JV kids.  I watched their middle school vs us a week or two ago.  Bellmont won by a few points but overall I think our kids looked a lot better.  Bellmont has 2 or 3 decent 8th graders but they're mid-weights.  I think Jay County owns next years Sectional as they're squad is young, we'll give them a run but we have some stud Seniors graduating too.  It's all about building the youth programs, and I think Currie does an amazing job attracting great numbers out of a small community.

I agree with the assessments offered on team potentials for next year but also remember that South Adams only had three seniors in their Sectional lineup and no forfeits. In addition, they have some pretty fair eight graders

I did hear a “rumor” that their middle school team had over 30+…
