Semi State All Stars.

Saw the Hypothetical on CP taking on All Stars from 1A-3A teams that went to State and had an idea to fill in some time this week with not a lot of matches as teams ready themselves for Conference.

I thought it would be entertaining to see everyones All-Star Team.

Pick 1 of the Semi State and  create an All Star team to battle the other All Star Semi State teams.

There are some guys that can bounce in weight up or down.

106 - Hockaday BB

113- P. Haines BB

120- L. Miller BB

126- Buttler Whiteland

132- Brady Ison BB

138- Cash Turner Edgewood

145- Hayden Watson Center Grove

152- Delaney Ruhlman/Meritt

160- J Conway Floyd Central

170- Baumann EMD

182- Drak Buchanan Center Grove

195- Purdy  Castle

220- Critchfield EMD

285- J. Johnson Franklin Comm.

That, my friend, is loaded. However, as I am partial to EMD, I would put Seng at 113 and Sollars at 195. I know Purdy beat him earlier this year but I don't see it happening again. Either way, there are studs everywhere in that lineup.

Fun topic:

Just purely based off of current state rankings to keep my own biases out of it as a coach, New Castle would be this way:

106- Smith-Southport

113- Dickey- Cathedral

120- Leavell- Warren Central

126- Wolf- East Central

132- Seltzer- Cathedral

138- Lowery- Roncalli

145- Koontz- PM

152- Rinehart- Zionsville

160- Jones- Warren Central

170- Cast- HSE

182- Hansen- Roncalli

195- Woodall- Southmont

220- Long- Noblesville

285- Burgett- HSE

Supposedly a down year in the semi-state, but a lot of studs right there. Still not sure we could beat Evansville or East Chicago this season.

Team race at New Castle will be interesting too. Just based off of this, Cathedral, Warren Central, Roncalli, and HSE all have 2 top ranked guys. I'm Sure Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville and East Central will all be right in the mix too. Gonna depend a lot on those 3rd and 4th place finishers and how many you can get to the ticket round.

If I had to guess, Cathedral is likely the favorite right now, but it'll be a fun day in about a month! Probably going to come down to who can sneak their 182 and 220 pounders through as those appear to be the "weakest" weights by state rankings at this point, but at least a few top 195 pounders are switching to 182 if you look at recent results, so I suspect you'll have a few different kids on the New Castle podium than the rankings currently reflect.

You know the team from East Chicago would win.  Why even try.

Demarco placed higher at state last year at 195, and after watching Jendreas and Hockaday at team state, I’ll say Bailey will have a tough match.  I just hope Bailey and Jendreas are opposite sides and should be the finals at semistate

Definitely as it’s them two and everyone else battling for the 3rd and 4th spot.
