Assuming this may have fallen under that consideration and organizers knew there was no way to enforce a mandate across such a large number of athletes and spectators It's a missed opportunity for those college wrestlers looking for some great competition - but on the optimistic side maybe it will give them some more time around family for the holidays Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Iowa is now having an "Iowa Open" and IllinoisMatmen along with Rokfin are hosting a "new" Midlands at the same venue. Many teams with flights and hotels already booked will be participating. Hard to cancel those things a week away, so you are likely to see a pretty similar field. The country shut down will not in any way prevent the spreading. We know this now. They could have continued on with the midlands as normal but took the easy way out here.
