Not that the names to the wrestling scene are new to them, but who are some wrestlers to keep an eye out on.

For example, Landon Horning of Ev Memorial is a freshman who has now beat 2 ranked seniors in one week.
He first beat Paul King(ranked 14th) in a UTB 3-2 win

Then last night beat Blake Zirkelbach(ranked 7th)

Horning was a Middle School State Champion Finalist in 2020.

It would be AWESOME if Evansville people reported their results!

Jordan Takara 152 at union county. Kid is solid, a hammer, still has not got a chance to wrestle anyone ranked ss or state ranked yet. I can see Takara doing some bracket busting during the state series.

If they all stay at 152 it'll be a killer battle with Currie/Dull/Manley at the Jay County Regional.  Manley has always been a tough wrestler, but he is the most improved wrestler I've seen this year in any weight class in our area.

Union County goes through New Castle. You may be thinking Union City who is in the Jay County sectional.

The Cake Eaters may have 4 state qualifiers in Horning, Williams, and Farmer Bros

One might think 40 or 50 years of using "cake eaters" might yield something else.  But as far as I know West Siders are still drinking Old Milwaukee and Milwaukee's Best (Hint: It ain't!), so why should anything change?  ;)

Landon Horning did not wrestle in Memorial's dual against Mater Dei.  Memorial FF'd 4 weights so not sure if they had some sickness issues or if something else.

This would fall under Old Names, but does anyone have an update on Leighton Ramsey for Castle.  Not in Castle's lineup at Mooresville.  Ramsey was 29-1 last year, but fell in the Regional.

Forgive me for not knowing some of these young guys, but there were some hammers at the Holiday classic.

Ty Henderson 106- Vincennes Lincoln  Young man is solid

Walter Hagedorn 106-TC was solid on  the day. Got a tf in qtrs over junior Rollin Douglas(FC)

Vince Kessinger 120-FC young freshman wasn't rattled by the gym noise as he squared off against Egli(Emd)  caught him in a cradle that didn't work at first and readjusted to lock it in for the fall.
