106 is wide open in my opinion. I think there are 6 potential champs, in Bailey, Dickey, Billerman, Seng, Jackson, and Tishner. Maybe I could even throw Smith in there, as he has previous wins over Jackson I think.

I would definitely throw Nate Smith in the mix. Great kid, technically sound, and never gives up. He was up 5-2 early on Dickey in the SS final. Dickey came back and won 8-5. Close match and could have gone either way.

Filipovich is a monster.

I know.  And his name is cool as well. But Packman sounds way cooler and the cross merchandising we could do with his logo would be awesome.  I can see the Tee Shirts now.   If he wins I’m wearing it when I come down to New Castle for Midwest Nationals in July.

Evan Seng has to be in the talk about winning it at 106. Great chance of being a state champ.

State Championship Results

2020
Gavin Layman

Loss vs. Gabe Sollars( Evansville Mater Dei) Fall 3:54

I don't believe Layman can beat Sollars

That Loss last year was on Friday night at State.

Agreed. Sollars has been looking unstoppable this year.

Bet my lefty on Cottey repeating, concussion or not. The kid is D1 talent that just so happens to be oddly loyal to an NAIA school. Robert Major is a freak, probably has less than 10 points scored on him all year and I’d bet more than 1/2 are cut points. The rest I basically agree with.

The biggest problem I have with Major is seeing Eli Dickens walk through him 14-4 two years ago.  Brody Baumann is as good or better than Dickens 2 yrs ago and, in my opinion, as good as Eli was last year.  I know it's been 2 yrs, but I've watched that match a few times and can't get it out of my head.
