Hmmmm.... can’t wait to revisit this when our kids are Juniors & Seniors in college .

Remember:

8 Freshman

1 Sophomore

1 Senior

Biggest beat down Purdue has ever given IU. IU doesn’t seem to be heading in the direction everyone thinks they are.

Not sure the streaks going to be over then either. Plus Purdue’s lineup tonight, 2 freshmen, 3 sophomores.

Chad red pulls out a crazy win vs Illinois#14 Duncan.. Was down 1 and riding time in Duncan's favor with 20 seconds red hits a granby into a crazy scramble putting Duncan in his back for rev and 2bks.. Red was down big after a apparently giving up backs until the brick came in and wiped them away.. Red gave up a reversal and almost bks at the buzzer and barely erased the  riding time point to win 4-3! It's on YouTube I highly suggest you watch this crazy ending.

Illinois kid got screwed.  Clearly had back points against red, no clue why they took them off the board.  Then the adjusted the riding time and put roughly 20 seconds back on the clock.

That was suspect with the BK points removed.

#1 seed Hildebrandt gets a bye first round.

Mosconi falls 2-0 to the #2; Poindexter falls 3-1 to the #5.

#5 Slivka wins his first match, 5-2. The #4 got upset, so he's got an open door to a semi's berth. Top 4 at 157 get automatic NCAA bids.

Hildebrandt wins 12-0 in the quarters.  Slivka falls, 7-4, but an upset and an injury means he wouldn't face anyone seeded higher than him until the 3rd-4th match if he can string a couple together. (By the way, I stated earlier, he needs top 3 for NCAAs--he actually only needs top 4.)

Mosconi and Poindexter eliminated.

The 8 seed Fielden with a HUGE win over NCAA coaches' panel #30 Cassella, the 4 seed at the EIWAs. He needs top 5 to qualify for nationals and he's into the conso semi's with two shots to get it done. Next up is the 6 seed from Lehigh.

What happened to Carson Brewer? Hasn't he been wrestling "varsity" all year?

He rolled his ankle really bad a week and a half ago (high and low ankle injury). He was to be the 3rd or 4th seed at the MAC tournament. He will be out for another few weeks. He is very disappointed but has plans to do a lot of wrestling this summer.

Appreciate your support SWINfan. Always been supportive of his efforts. He will be back. Has 4 years of eligibility left!

Thanks for the reply and info.  Hate it for him.  From the results I had seen, he was doing really well.  Was (and still am) looking forward to see what he can do.
