tefakes
Has anybody kicked around the thought of matside weigh-ins during this pandemic? Maybe +1 pound or so.
bbulldog152
Like opposed to weighing in the locker room? and are you talking about weighing before each match or just the first match?
tefakes
Yes, as opposed to having all the wrestlers gathered in the same locker room. For a duel meet, wrestlers weigh at the score table as they check in. For a multi-duel or tournament, weigh ins could be conducted as normal. chambers
There is no requirement or need to weigh-in in the locker room. This year they have to weigh-in wearing a singlet (or legal two piece uniform).
Y2CJ41
You can't add an extra allowance, but I guess technically a dual meet could do this if the teams agreed to it.
Ingotdad37
What about kids who are cutting weight ,. You can’t expect them to step on the scale moments before they wrestle .

AJ
I could see this change coming, especially since we are already doing skin checks up to 24 hours prior to an event

They should be adequately hydrated before competition and if we really are concerned about weight loss practices, mat side weighing may be a way to enforce better weight management issues. Steven Sandefer
IMO This is something that has always sounded much better in theory. I do not believe in telling kid's they can't manage their weight how'd they'd like; but it is also our job as coaches to make sure it is done in a healthy and proper way. rookie78
I would be happy for my kids to have the opportunity to weigh-in and compete this year..............no matter if it was mat-side or not. Things are getting pretty scary again. IU89
