Lots of our top guys taking losses early. Going to make for a long day for some of our studs.

Hooper gets the one seed his next match.

Schoeff lost a heartbreaker in the round of 256. My guy will be getting a lot of matches today.

We have Christian Carroll of Penn(#15 @ 220) and Evan Bates of Chesterton(#7 at 220) 3-0 and in the quarters at 195.

Carroll faces #9 Martin Cosgrove while Bates has UR Maslanek.

If both win, we are guaranteed an IN finalist as they would face each other in the semis.

Bates gets upset in the quarters, but Christian Carroll gets the 5-2 victory over #9 Martin Cosgrove in a match he looked better in from the opening whistle to get to the semi-finals against the kid that knocked Bates out.

Christian isn’t just an amazing wrestler, but also a wonderful young man too, and seeing what he’s done the last month or so is incredible. I’ve been waiting for him to be in high school for years, but he has made the jump seamlessly and is establishing himself as one of our top P4P wrestlers quickly.

Seltzer in the semis vs #1 Drake Ayala. A few weeks back at Who’s #1 Ayala knocked off Flos #1 Pound for Pound wrestler.  This is a statement match for Seltzer in terms of showing here right there with the best of the best in the county. Get after it.

Ayala over Seltzer 10-9.  Lots of action.  Few points for both early.  Ayala 2 point tilt from a ride and a takedown a little while after widened the gap and put him in the drivers seat.  Seltzer spend most of the rest of the match trying to play catch up with takedowns and cuts.  He got a few but couldn’t quite get there.  Still showed he’s right there with the Pound for Pound guys.

Super 32 Champ Christian Carroll.  He grinds out a 3-1 win in the finals including some tough riding during the 2nd period and a late fight to stop a takedown with 20sec left.
