powerhalf
I got bored and took a look at returning wrestlers at my local sectional. This is what the sectional could look like minus some minor changes like : incoming freshman, weight changes, kids not coming out, kids coming out who weren't out last year, injuries, illness, progress made during the offseason and so forth. While still reeling from the loss of Floyd Central and New Albany, this sectional looks to continue to make a better statement for itself in the state tournament. Their senior exodus includes 7 wrestlers, 5 champions, a 2nd, and a 4th, who scored 147.5 points by themselves. This would have been enough to place 3rd on the day. Harrison has won 9 straight sectionals leading into 2021, Jeff is poised to make their best run since 2007 when they last won the sectional. It should be an interesting team race this coming season, did Harrison graduate too much talent to stay on top or will they reload and take the decade with their 10th sectional in a row? It should be an interesting team race this coming season, did Harrison graduate too much talent to stay on top or will they reload and take the decade with their 10th sectional in a row? The good news it might be more interesting next year in Tippecanoe County, and I like seeing some jazz about the sectional. Jeff did make a good run in 2015 and was probably there best team in the 9 year time span and was probably better than the 2007 team. Jeff beat Harrison in dual that year(14-15), but came up a little short in conference, sectionals and regionals. To be honest, I think your McCutcheon Mavericks will contend more with Harrison next year then Jeff. Program is going in the direction and you got some quality back. Have to find a way to compete in every weight class at sectional to do it. To note on Harrison, they by far had the deepest Varsity B and JV and had multiple kids that could of placed at sectionals on the varsity B and they do have one of the stronger freshman classes coming in they've had in a while. The question mark will be in their upper weights. West Lafayette has some good quality back to but probably not enough depth to compete for title but could shake some points up. I heard rumor that Harrison was going to put a roman numeral X on the right leg of the singlet like Iowa did when they were going for their 10th consecutive NCAA title back in the 80s. That would be one of the better signs for the other teams. But in all seriousness, Coach Henry would be too smart for that as it didn't work out well for Iowa.
