That might hurt us in the long run trying to get the IHSAA to sponsor team state.

I'm not holding my breath that the IHSAA is going to change course at this time. We have ventured off into our own world especially with the whole classification changes we did and how we classify teams.

Fairhaven should get voted in for 1A they are good and have a full lineup

That's a good point.   They wrestle the same Indiana schools and don't join the IHSAA do to some religious beliefs.  Since this is not an IHSAA event,  why exclude them.    I guess on the flip side, they don't  state sectional, regional and SS points so makes them difficult to compare.    But could you make an exception on the vote in.

You should have a coaches vote to see if they want Fairhaven in this tournament.  As a 1A school, they would be real hard to beat, as they have had kids in the past that would have placed in state.  Right now they have at least 2 kids that could compete for a state title next year, if they would join the IHSAA but can’t because they only offer wrestling and soccer at their school.

Jake Damron at 138 beat Tattini last year
Josiah Wright at 152 lost by one point to Jorden Douglass
Gideon Ramos at 160 lost 5-1 to Asbury

Not sure they are "champs," but would be pretty solid contenders for a state medal.

Almost there now on our first round of bids.

It is assured now that the voting process for the final two spots in 1A will involve Southmont and South Adams for spot #11 and the non-winner of that vote plus Winamac and Frankton for spot #12. (Only South Adams was within 15 points of Southmont, the first available candidate. Winamac and Frankton earn consideration for the final spot by virtue of being within 15 of South Adams, the second available candidate.)

Only one spot remains in 3A. That vote will come down to Roncalli, Terre Haute South, and WL Harrison. No other teams were within 15 points of the first two available candidates.
