Slivka is one of the best big match wrestlers in Indiana history. He had wins over multiple top ranked high schoolers last year. And has beaten more of those guys this year. He just gets the job done.

Slivka beat #2 in the nation and Penn State commit Trey Kibe at Disney Duals, and of course beat a seemingly unbeatable DJ Washington at state. Dickens is good, but I would choose Slivka to win that m

Another super tough one that I should have labeled as such. When it’s all said and done Mendez may very well have the better career, but we’re only halfway there! Pure wrestling prowess it’d be a helluva match.

Healthy Walker vs Brewer is a toss up in my opinion, and even though Slivka is a gamer Dickens wins 8-3

106 Cernus

113 Moran. Haven’t we seen this result?

120 Zeke

126 Mendez

132 Mendez. Great match up, the one everyone would pay for. Garcia is one of the best to come through Indiana, but Mendez is a hammer. I think the pace might be too much for Garcia, but Garcia has surprised me a lot. His top position was stellar last year. Could he hold down Mendez?

138 Rooks

145 Viduya

152 Rodgers

160 Dickens. This one would be interesting because slivka was amazing in top position last year.

170 South

182 Brewer this one also would be interesting also. Too monster 182 pounders. It would be an absolute dog fight!

195 Allred vs Allred tie 🤣

220 Bates. Just technically sound in all aspects for a 220 pounder. Would be too quick for Fowler.

285 Keys. He was simply better last year. Not taking away him getting 3rd at all, but I think the Keys last year would win the tight one with Parsons this year.

Have to agree with @TeamGarcia this is a silly debate. Kids change so much year to year there’s no telling who would win. Like Joe vs Carson. They wrestle one time a couple years back. But if you look at both of them today they both have changed sooo much, no telling what would happen. Many others have wrestled also. Just know that these kids all should be proud and be grateful that their names will forever be in the record books and a part of these debates for years on end.

I do know this.... there is bigger things in store for all these guys. I have been told by multiple champs.. “have no clue why I got so worked up over one tourney, it really is not a big deal.” Every college tourney you go too has multiple state champs in each bracket. Just about every kid at the D1 level is a state champ.

These kids will continue to grow. This year Carson was in the same bracket as the last two number one kids that came out of high school in his class (who’s number one champs). He took the number one high schooler from two years ago to OT and lost and won the other tourney that last years number one was in. He is closing the gap between himself and the perceived best kids that have came out. Some of this years champs will do the same. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Again, silly debate, but a honor to continue to be acknowledged.
