Impressive #'s for sure, and there are probably a handful of wrestlers that are on the cusp of being ranked.  A few that come to mind are Toole (Lebanon), Bond (Sheridan), and your guy Thrine (New Castle).  The ranking guys have a difficult task, but based purely on the #'s this has the makings of the toughest semi-state I have witnessed in the last 10 years for overall depth.

Yessir it's always loaded but this season seems to be extra... there's def gonna be a lot of studs that don't punch thieir ticket this year!

Two of the three from Fort Wayne have "excuses"

Kolin Cope was one of FIVE, yes five ranked from the same sectional...someone was going home in that sectional.
Marcus Debolt was winning something like 8-0 in the semi-finals and got injured.

Is Cameron Allen the only state ranked wrestler eliminated?  Anyone know why he didn't wrestle Sat?

Debolt was not winning 8-0. He was losing 8-0 to Harris of Concordia.

Marcus Debolt was never winning in the semifinals on Saturday. Was down 4-0 when he went out with injury.

OUTSTANDING job as always:

STATE RANKED = 4 (1 did not wrestle in Sectional, 1 did not wrestle in Regional, 2 lost at Regional)

276 / 280 = 98.57% wrestlers remaining

NCSS = 6 (2 did not wrestle in Sectional, 4 eliminated at Regional)

106 / 112 = 94.64% wrestlers remaining

EVSS = 16 (3 did not wrestle in Sectional, 1 did not wrestle in Regional, 12 eliminated at Regional)

124 / 140 = 88.57% wrestlers remaining

FWSS = 16 (2 did not wrestle in Regional, 3 eliminated at Sectional, 11 eliminated at Regional)

124 / 140 = 88.57% wrestlers remaining

ECSS = 16 (1 did not wrestle in Sectional, 2 eliminated at Sectional, 13 eliminated at Regional)

124 / 140 = 88.57% wrestlers remaining

When touting overall rankings accuracy it’s nice to also take into account what ranked wrestlers were eliminated by someone ranked above them.  In those instances the rankers wouldn’t be incorrect since they “called it right,” even though the ranked wrestler is now out. This is usually a big stat discrepancy after SS, but it shows up a little after Regional results too.
