Perseverance
Unfortunately both young men fell a little short.....and each finish Runner-Up. Freestyle begins tomorrow morning. They’ll bounce back strong
Y2CJ41
Allred and Mendez both drop their finals matches. The main reason for the event is qualifying for the Pan Am team. They only take ONE wrestler per weight so there is a scoring system in place to determine who they will take. If they were to tie with someone the first choice would be the person with the most falls in the least amount of time throughout both events. Caleb Spires
Christian Carroll places 7th with his placement win over a 2x Michigan D3 placer(4th @ 171 in 2018, 6th @ 189 this year). He’s for sure one of our freshman studs to look out for next year.

Great match and Mendez looked a little more savvy in freestyle.
Perseverance
Allred & Mendez advance to Cadet Freestyle Semi’s. Both in great position to secure the weight with Team USA for Pan Am’s. Lee, Lohrey, Dickens and Walker all advance to Junior Freestyle Semi’s. Quite a few hammers still wrestling back in consi’s at both levels. Including Seltzer, Parkinson, Erb & Boarman. Semi-Finals begin tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Edited April 19, 2019 by Perseverance Westforkwhite and IMrule

Thor
Mendez and Allred are in the drivers seat to make the Pan Am team, looks like if they win their semis they make the team Edited April 19, 2019 by Thor Westforkwhite
Y2CJ41
Mendez is in solid position to secure the Pan Am spot, the guy that beat him in Greco didn't enter freestyle. Only two other Greco placers made the freestyle podium, Ramon Ramos(3rd) and Benjamin Alanis(5th). Mendez already has more points than Alanis and will basically need to not finish more than two spots behind Ramos. Ramos has Boarman in the morning. Allred's path is a little more complicated, but he controls his own fate. The champ from Greco is in the consolations so if Allred makes the finals he should be good to go. The other semi-finals has the 3rd and 4th place finishers from Greco and the Greco champ could obviously wrestle back to 3rd. Y2CJ41
Mendez and Allred into the finals Mendez clinches his Pan Am spot. Allred helps his cause greatly. The champ from Greco is top six and there would be a tie if Allred loses and he gets 3rd. Other updatesSeltzer, Boarman, and Parkinson will all wrestle for 7th Juniors Lee, Walker, and Dickens all make the finals Lohrey drops his semi-finals match Coach Howard

Y2CJ41
If my quick calculations are correct both Allred and Fisher have one pin with Allred's being faster. Fisher advanced to the 3rd place match so he's one win from potentially tying Allred.

Great win for Hayden. I think he is still quite aways way from his ceiling and his best days are ahead of him at the college level (which he will be announcing this week). He really didn’t start wrestling year round until his junior year. His CIA crew is helping him tremendously.
