Wow. What a squad! The crazy part of it is they all lost to DCC's backups. (At least according to the lineup on TW) DCC's starters are: Derek Gilcher (145 - 1st at Brecksville, Flo #18) Cameron Amine (152/160 - 1st at Brecksville, Flo #2 at 160) Kevon Davenport (152/160 - 2nd at Brecksville to Donnell Washington, Flo #7 at 152). How do you go from being smoked with a score of 16-40 to it even being considered close? Mosconi lost 7-1 not close Rodgers lost 6-2 somewhat close Slivka lost 9-4 not close Huffman lost 5-2 somewhat close Guhl lost 1-0 now that’s close lost 5 matches by major or worse Good to see them seek out tough competition but let’s not sugar coat a loss. Those are results that breed lessons. Obviously.....it’s never ok to celebrate defeat. But man......the Rogers & Slivka matches show a very small gap to close. Especially Jordan’s! That’s a solid performance against a ridiculously talented Amine.

Ah, don’t look too much into my quick analysis. The score makes it looked like a bad loss. But the matchups make it look closer than the score. I will say that if you look at the Cathedral - Dundee match, it shows Casey Swiderski wrestling both 106 and 113. I'm guessing that's not correct so mistakes would not surprise me. maligned
Which are the Indiana residents wrestling for Mt. Carmel? Which school districts do they live in? This is one small element of the region dropping off in dominance that might not get discussed--seems there are more and more kids heading to Illinois private schools. If you add 5 Mt. Carmel starters to the East Chicago semi-state representatives at state, it certainly would add some nice depth.

Noah Mis- Griffith Rehan Uribe- Crown Point Robert Bowman- Griffith Nick Mishka- Lowell I believe Miles Hoey- possibly Lake Central

One sub-point to this in terms of ECC semi-state depth is that I suppose Culver Academies is doing some heavy lifting in replacing that lost talent with another state's high-end imports.
