Storm is supposed to be Thursday into Friday.  Hopefully cleaned up enough to travel on Saturday morning without restrictions.

We should be good - storm should clear out by Friday at 7 pm.  But I bet there’s no school Friday if it hits like predicted - start 11pm Thursday snow for 16 hours straight and up to 10” - does the 1lb allowance apply for semi state if there’s no school ?

It only applies if a school is not allowed to practice due to school being closed. Even if school is closed, some school systems still allow afternoon practices if road conditions clear up.

Some region schools have already cancelled school for tomorrow. Not sure if they can practice tomorrow or not. According to the Hammond Times: Lake Station Schools, River Forest, Hobart and Hammond schools.

I’m sure there will be more.

So has a semi-state ever been snowed out?  Say hypothetically,  it is snowed out.   Will they make up Monday?

This has had to happen before,  I know some administrators get really gun shy about sending buses in bad weather.   What happens if like one school says, I not putting my team out there,  will they then postpone for one team?

No they will run the show without them

Illinois put out official word that if you don't come- season done.  They are looking to combine their two-day sectional (their state qualifier) into one day if needed.

Our supertindent once forbid our Coach to take the Regional Qualifiers to Regional due to the snow. He asked if parents could drive them as an option and she said if you show up at Regionals, you'll be fired. I guess schools take this stuff pretty serious! I'm sure it is hard to reschedule an event this size. However, safety should always be first in the parents' and coaches' mind. A title isn't worth a life. If you don't feel comfortable, don't go.

Hopefully though all meteorologist are wrong again, and smooth sailing for all the boys!

Not about being tough, smart on the other hand.... Wrkn next to the Rats beloved 7 blast furnace and hasn’t let up since I started @5. Drove Rt. 20 all the way into E.C. wasn’t to bad. If this keeps up everyone coming in tomorrow should look into some of the alternative routes. As of a couple minutes ago 80 was one lane. Happy trails to all and be safe.
