Obviously, the champ is the champ and deserves the attention as it's one of the toughest State tournaments in the country, but the fact is our placements really aren't true placements without wrestlebacks. I'm not trying to open Pandora's box, but more than one coach mentioned how dumb a first round match of Colton Cummings vs Alec White was last year (the year before it was Triana vs Cummings in SS Blood Round). One has to win and one has to lose, but the fact that the loser can't come back to place seems absurd, Of the 2 coaches we talked with who actually came to our State tournament, each watched Friday night and then left on Saturday morning for the Illinois State Tournament. Their reasoning was they preferred to see more kids wrestle in a State with class wrestling, than the limited bang for the buck in our State. Everyone said our State tournament environment was awesome, but no one liked our State's format. I'm not trying to turn this into a 25 page topic, but that's what we heard straight from multiple D1 coaches. Let the debates begin... I have heard similar things from college coaches. If a kid they are interested loses, how do they handle it and wrestleback for example. They also want to maximize the number of athletes they can see, and that wasn't just wrestling coaches but cross country college coaches as well. I hope of or two of the studs at 126 drop down or go up! Like 2016 at 106? Garcia finishes 2nd to Mills in the regional and draws Cayden Rooks in the Ticket Round. Garcia wins in TB and goes on to win state. Rooks stays home and then bumps to 120 last year and wins state. Likely going to happen again this year. Brown boys
Semi State wrestle backs will always be a discussion however if you have ever had a kid make it through the ticket round...well there are no words!! Atmosphere is indescribable!!! Wait, wasn't this about the depth at 126?? DEEEEEP!! Wrestlingaddict101
Juggernaut
It appears that this freakish phenomenon of 126 lb beasts is not confined to Indiana only. The 126 weight class in Ohio is also one of the deepest , in the division 1 class.

Lee and M.Paris. Can make an argument that he is in serious discussions for the 3rd best I've right now. Great kid and Amazing wrestler. Keep up the good work TeamGarcia To say this is one of the toughest High School tournaments in the nation is not that far fetched. When ranked guys from Ohio are not even placing top 8 and one of best wrestlers in Indiana at 126 placed lower than what he is ranked shows it is just insanely competitive. It looks more like a tough Semi state Tournament or better. Id love to see Mater Dei,Cathedral, Brownsburg and Perry Meridian try and get in this. Looks like next year Brecksville will fall on a Sunday, no Indiana HS teams are allowed to wrestle on Sundays. Hopefully from what I heard they are going to move back the days so Indiana Teams can comeback . If not I’m sure Avon will seek out the best competition out there for their wrestlers.
