maligned
So Hildebrandt goes 3-0 and Miracle goes 2-1. Both girls actually end up being at the top of their weight in the pool. At Miracle's weight, two girls went 2-1 and two went 1-2. Kayla had the head-to-head over the other girl who was 2-1 and she also had better classification point differential. Today in the 3rd place match against Mongolia, Miracle will face the girl who went 3-0 in their weight in the other pool, meaning a win would make her officially the "champion" of the weight for the tournament. Sarah's opponent went 2-1 and there's a good chance she and a girl from China could both finish 4-0 at their weight, so I'm not sure how they'll determine that weight class champion if it happens. maligned
Both Hildebrandt and Miracle fall in their last matches today. Sarah was up 8-0 at the break and then seemed to lose steam. She gave up a takedown and then another before a final restart at 8-4 saw her get tossed to her back and pinned. She finished 3-1. Miracle lost 6-1 to the Mongolian girl who steamrolled through all four of her opponents. Kayla finished 2-2, including getting a win over the Japanese girl who finished 3-1. The US team fell 5-3 to Mongolia today to finish 4th out of 8 teams. Notably, they split 4-4 (but lost on match results criteria) against Japan yesterday and Japan went on to win the event.
