Frankie Porras

Frankie wrestled for Hobart High School, as a freshman in 2007 he had a record of 39-8 and went on to become a state qualifier at 119 pounds. The next year as a sophomore at bigger weight, 125 pounds, Frankie went on to be a state runner-up, losing a very tight match to Josh Harper the defending state champion. Holding a record of 41-4. That same year Frankie became a high school All-American placing 5th at high school nationals. In his Freestyle campaign as a sophomore he was a Fargo All-American placing 8th. In 2009, Frankie became Hobart's 10th state champion in school history, Holding a record of 40-1. Also, placing 5th again at High school nationals, becoming a two time High school AA. During his senior year, Frankie won his 2nd state title with a record of 42-1. With his hard work recognized by the state, He won the 2010 Mental Attitude Award. After high school, Frankie went on to wrestle for Purdue University. This only highlights some of his accomplishments others include being a 2x academic all stater, a semi-state champion, 3x regional champion, and a 4x sectional champion. We are very excited to have Frankie in the room again.

3/15/17 will feature

Brennan Cosgrove

Cosgrove also wrestled for the Brickies and graduated in 2008. He is well known around the state and the country for his funky style and humor. He in my personal opinion was one of the most exciting wrestlers to watch because you never knew what he was going to do. As a freshman in high school he posted a record of 40-7 finishing out his freshman campaign with a 3rd place state medal. Moving on to his sophomore year where he improved his placement and took a step up the podium with a 2nd place finish at state and held a record of 46-2. His junior year was a fun one to watch, where the rivalry of Cosgrove vs McGill was born. These two went back and forth all year exchanging wins and losses, it came down to them in the finals of every tournament that they were both entered in. Semi-state came around, one of the better known matches, where the result was an illegal slam and Cosgrove leaving with a 2nd place SS finish. The very next week at the state finals they met again, with McGill wrestling the better match this time and coming out on top for the last time, Leaving Cosgrove with a 2nd place finish and a 45-4 record. Cosgrove's senior year was his most dominant, he was untouched with a 43-0 record taking his final step up the podium with a State Championship. Cosgrove is known for his funky style, big returns, flying throws, long shots, leg rides, etc... During his 4 years in high school Cosgrove was a Cliff Keen All-American, and also a High school All-American placing 6th at senior nationals. After high school he went on to wrestle for Purdue University. Other accomplishments include 2x Semi-State champion, 4x Regional Champion, and 3x sectional champion. If you are looking to bring some funk to your style, this is the RTC for you!! He will be showing some freestyle turns, and most likely some moves you just pull out of your butt. Thats the kind of wrestler he is.

Chico Adams and Cosgrove having some fun before the finals of state.

Just watching the Cosgrove lift and return how was that an illegal slam? It looks like one of the stay down and you will win the match type of things. Was McGill hurt ?and if so it was not bad he won state the next week right? It just looked perfectly legal to me .....

First RTC my kid has attended and it was awesome.  Cosgrove did a great job and the partners in the room really challenged my kid.  He will definitely be going to more of these. Thanks Hobart for hosting.

Piggy backing here.........my boys have been attending these RTC's the past several weeks and they are amazing.  Great energy, great instruction, great conditioning.  Seriously, well done coaches!  Sounds like Krause might attend one soon, has this been made official yet?
