I'll miss comparing Black-Rumph to Ramos-Bradbury

Bradbury lost to Ramos 13 times and he was winning 6 of them in the third period.

This week is always a good time to talk about a great ticket rd match.  Bradbury vs Birge.  Andrew put it on youtube last year:

Thanks for sharing!  One of the most memorable matches I've ever seen at the Merrillville Semi-State.  It definitely left a lasting impression on 10 year old me at the time.

I scored it 13-12 for Bradbury.  Is that what everyone else had?

Has to be top 3, if not the top in terms of ticket round matches.  For all the losses that he took to Ramos that year, he seemed to have given to my brother that year.  I recall them wrestling a few times and BJ never quite being able to beat him.  I remember them being pretty physical matches also.

The two most famous in my mind both happened that same 1999 year.

1. Bradbury falls at regional to defending state champ Ramos and draws into another defending state champ Birge at semi-state. He wins 13-12 and goes on to place 2nd behind Ramos at state.

2. Defending state champ Rosbottom of Jeffersonville gets upset by Minton of New Albany at regional and draws into defending state runner-up Jankowski of Mater Dei. They wrestle a horrible stall-fest that Rosbottom just pulls out. Rosbottom and Minton go on to place 1st and 2nd at state with Minton's only season losses being multiple defeats to Rosbottom and a tech at the hands of Jankowski earlier in the year.

Two great illustrations of our broken no-wrestleback system at semi-state.
