Scores from Shelbyville, Franklin, TH North, TH South, Bloomington North, and Bloomington South have been edited above. All scores are now cross-checked thoroughly through sectional. Again, 3A scores don't matter much at this point. A few teams in the middle of the pack will end up placing very high and some teams at the top will struggle to score more than a few points more.

Scores are fully confirmed through regional except for a few still to cross-check from Fort Wayne. A few notes of analysis in addition to the new notes in the leaderboard post:

--Only Roncalli from among the contenders above has a small chance to be classified down to 2A with the new IHSAA data later this month (Jay County could also be a contender in the Fort Wayne race that could potentially drop, but they are not a wildcard contender here). Also, there are no teams in 2A that could potentially move up that will have scores in the 3A scoring system that would put them in contention. In other words, the leaderboard you see above is the genuine post-classification leaderboard.

--No injury points have been added in yet. There will most likely be several teams affected.

--Remember that the top score from each semi-state plus the next 6 best scores overall qualify automatically. Because the remaining possible contenders from Fort Wayne (Carroll, Jay County, Northridge) are further down the leaderboard, essentially a Top 9 position is the cutoff for being an automatic qualifier.

--Automatic qualification will require roughly 190 to 200 points. Around 170 or 175 will probably be the cutoff for vote-in consideration for the final two wildcards.

Scores are now updated through semi-state. Only Roncalli from this group has a small chance to be reclassified and affect the standings.

Because Carroll lead the FW automatic bid race and are further down the leaderboard, top 9 will essentially represent automatic wildcard territory.

Remember that anyone within 15 points of the next 2 teams after the automatic qualifiers will be eligible for the 2 vote-in positions.

Maligned,   Who votes on the 2 vote-in-positions?

So it looks like everyone from Hobart down are eliminated. Is that a correct statement?

Also... Perry will be getting more points for Fair's injury.

Also... will Center Grove get points for Littel being out? Sorry... it's a legit question!

It looks like the controversial stalling calls in the McCartney/Demien match put Penn in Team State and left Harrison out. (They each have 2 points still available.) If I understand the scoring, that match was a 12 point swing.  The chances of the lesser known Raiders being voted in over Perry, Chesterton, Castle or Crown Point, probably aren't good.

Wouldn't it make more sense for 1st to get 2pts and 2-3 get 1.5pts and 4-5 get 1pt and 6-7 get a .5pt? It seems the difference between 2nd and 3rd is the luck of the draw in many cases.

Actually, following season performance of 3 and 5 is virtually identical. Both go 3-1 at state and lost to someone good. 2 is a small step ahead of them. Points are set up where history has shown the natural breaks are.

Neither situation gets points. Injury points are only given for pre-tournament situations. (With 9 seniors, PM needed to wrestle well and avoid bad luck to get an auto bid like WC did last year with 10 seniors. Unfortunately for them, it didn't happen,)

And Littel has no previous season points to award. Both situations will be a huge deal during voting, though.

Yes, assuming no more injury point claims, Hobart and below are eliminated.

Tournament selection committee votes in April on the final 2. That's made up of coaches who volunteered...currently from Warren, Edgewood, Yorktown, Centerville, Churubusco, East Central, Madison, Jeffersonville

In a sense, this is true. But I'm sure their staff would tell you the points they left on the table in some other regional and semi-state matches where they were probably favored were just as big.

Good point Maligned!  In any sport, as a coach and fan, I often re-live one or two decisions in a match or game, but it's better to look at the whole match and not obsess over one of the bad decisions I made.  I'll let others do that.  LOL. I looked at the seeds and results and you're right, Harrison left a few points on the mat.  A quick glance shows they had two #1's lose.  One lost to a 4 and one to a 3.  In the 4 over 1, the Harrison #1 was undefeated. Ouch!

Harrison could of locked it up and is disappointing weekend to see they lost a few of the matches.   But they still should have a very strong team coming back next year with 13 starters back, and they're varsity B was very strong that had some guys that will compete for spots.  There points still should be in the 11 to 12 spot.   Harrison was in position to go to team state a few years ago, and they lost the vote in to a team they felt was not as strong and didn't  perform as well.  That would be sad if there was a bias out there against Harrison just because some schools have a big name.  I hope that's not what its about when the "Committee of Power" votes.     Not that Im lobbying, but the Committee of Power should not that Harrsion fans travel well.

No way can you leave Perry out. Doesn't seem like anyone on the outside can catch Roncalli for the last automatic spot. That leaves one spot. Who gets it?

Harrison, castle, Chesterton, Center Grove or crown point?

Why cant you leave Perry Out?  Looks like they're not going to have as many points as other teams.

Scholar: Perry = Blue Blood! You better start lobbying for your Lafayette folks. In the Olympics, they bribe the decision makers...maybe you can send the committee gifts or pick up their concession tab this weekend. Let the wealthiest man win! JK

You're right.     We better come up with something good from West Lafayette, like free  Boiler Maker football tickets.  No, they could get those anywhere Cheap, that wont influence anyone:).  Maybe some XXX burger gift certificates.

Its definitely going to be a fight against the "Blue Blood Bias".  But if we spin  this right to the "Committee of Power",  we could say its starting to look like a club up there at team state.   Maybe we need some "New Blood" instead of "Blue Blood".

Nice! I like that idea. "New blood" is a good slogan! "XXX" might get some votes too, especially if they misinterpret what kind of joint it is

Well keep the XXX offer vague so they don't know.    If it does come to Harrison vs Perry.    I like the argument of 13 returning starters argument vs only 5.
