Taylor83
How do you get informed of injured wrestlers who qualified for the semi state last year? There is a 2 time FW semi state qualifier in our sectional (Oak Hill) who is a junior but was injured and didn't wrestle. rookie78
I think what you are looking at is how many kids are left on that particular team in the state tournament and that can possibly still score additional points. For example PH had 12 kids advance to Regionals and they each can score additional points as they advance Edited February 1, 2017 by rookie78

For example PH had 12 kids advance to Regionals and they each can score additional points as they advance Thanks I kept thinking of it as possible points remaining and looking at the scoring and thinking there was no way that number was right. Thanks for the clarification

maligned
This class is much more competitive this year by the way. There are a lot of really good scores right now. Last year, the final automatic berth was at 147. We're already beyond that number. Because all 4 semi-state are represented near the top, we know that Top 10 is what you'll have to shoot for to gain an automatic bid. It's looking like that number will be between 165 and 170. maligned
Unofficial scores updated through regional now. Many from EV, NC, and FW have not been cross-checked. Some points of analysis: --Southmont and Southridge are teams of note that could possibly be classified as 1A with the late-February data. They have 161 and 173 points, respectively, with the 1A scoring system. They both have 1 underclassman alive and could score 4 points this weekend. --North Posey, Oak Hill, and Cass are teams in contention here that are near the 1A/2A cut line and could move up with the new data. --Recall that one rep from each semi-state, plus the next 6 highest scores are automatic bids. Current semi-state auto bid leaders include North Posey (E-ville) and Cass (ECC). If either of them were moved up to 2A, the next teams would be North Putnam (E-ville) and Triton (ECC). --Because Cass is in an auto bid spot, the automatic wildcard cutoff is essentially whoever can get to a Top 9 spot, ignoring Cass, as the standings are shown above. --It will be an unusual situation if the above classification list holds. Unless there is injury information still coming in, all teams except the Top 13 are fully eliminated, including from voting consideration, because the first and second non-automatic candidates will score at least 167 points (currently Milan and Oak Hill). You must be within 15 points of at least one of those first 2 vote-in candidates' scores to be in the vote-in pool and no other team can possibly reach 152 points unless they have non-claimed injury points.
