Just trying to clarify....

This thread has Pool A with #1 seed, B #2, C #3, D #4 etc and then Pool A winner vs Pool D winner in the bracketed Round 4. This is what would be expected. However, on the 3A Team State Discussion Thread it has the listed #2 seed in the D Pool. I assume one or the other is incorrect?

Also, no carry ins of any sort like last year at Ball U?

They "changed" the pool names to better fit into TrackWrestling.  Alas in the semi-finals the pools with the #1 seed and #4 seed will be in one semi-final and the #2 and #3 in the other.

It looks like the schedule will be that the unseeded (and likely 3rd in pool) teams will have a bye in rounds 3 and 4 both. 4 hours is a really long time to sit around for that token 9/11 place match in round 5. Fortunately there will be great wrestling to watch but it still really sucks.

Giving the unseeded team the bye in Round 3 will, in most cases, allow Round 3 to be a virtual quarterfinal round.  This keeps the buildup of the tournament feeling as much like a fully bracketed event as possible, even with the imperfect number of teams (12).
