wolfpackwrestling
Austin Kopp Corydon Central Antonio Gaddie Charlestown Both former wrestlers with numerous youth accolades and two of the top running backs in the state. Kopp was leading the state in TD and top 5 in rushing yards while Gaddie just torched Heritage Hills in a nice upset win last week. Both guys are standouts on the mat and gridiron but neither wrestled last year. Get back on the mat fellas
markio
Mater Dei's Kurtis Wilderman is a pretty darn good QB this season. 2275 yards, 21 TD passes, with only 3 INTs and an 11-0 record. Edited October 27, 2015 by markio
Penn04
Probably the least surprising thing you'll read all day: Kobe Woods is a monster at middle linebacker. BeastMode#31

artie_wrestler
Thought this was interesting. I compared how far each team in the top 20 rankings went in football. I am not sure how many wrestlers are on each team or what they provide to each team, but the direct correlation between the two cant be ignored...... and its nothing we as wrestlers and coaches don't know. Here are the top 20 teams that played in a IHSAA Football Regional Championship or further..... Warren Central #1 Regional Championship (Tristen Tonte #2, Jasion Brogan #5, Knox-Abbot #16) Evansville Mater Dei #2 Regional Championship (Kurtis Wilderman, Blake Jourdan #5, Mitch Lehman, Seth Orth ) Penn #4 State Championship (Kobe Woods #1) Runner-up Cathedral #6 Regional Championship (Ryan Guhl #8, Ben Stewart #4) Avon #8 Semi State Championship (Gunnar Larson #3, Lance Meyer) New Palestine #9 State Championship Runner-up Bellmont #10 Regional Championship Delta #13 Regional Championship Carmel #14 Semi State Championship (Sam Hipple #5) Merrilville #15 Regional Championship (Shawn Streck #1) Lowell #19 Regional Championship Monrovia #6 (1A) State Chamionship Won (Garrison Lee #6, Dristen McCubbins, Riley McCubbins, Eli Stock, Ethan Stock many more) Schools who are always tough or often in the rankings Center Grove State Championship Won (Cory Heinrichs #9) Castle Regional Championship (Evan Dowell, Will Rolley, Clay McNutt, Carson Mohler, Brennan Norman, and Garrett Sprinkle) Bloomington South Regional Championship (Chase Dixon) I am probably missing some teams in this list but I thought I would share. Please name any wrestlers that were on these teams to further the point. Edited December 3, 2015 by artie_wrestler
