I notice Kral has 1 loss.  Is it out of state?  I wish I could see him vs. Kobe Woods.  That can definitely be a weird match with the height differential.

Kral's one loss was in overtime to Max Ihry of Waubonsie Valley, IL.  Ihry is ranked #7 at 195 in Illinois' 3A (big school) rankings.  He wrestled most of the year at 220, losing only to the 3A #1 (7-5 ot) and #8 (3-1) guys at 220 and the #8 guy at 195 (who he split with).    So Kral didn't lose to some schmo, but it does seem to have been a minor upset.

I'm pretty sure 160 and 182 are the only weights left that have a chance of having four undefeated facing off in the state finals. Anyone see that happening? Which weight has a better chance?

160

Grey Delta

Koontz Edgewood

Gonzalez Connersville

Hughes Lowell

182

Hinkle Western

Shaffer South Putnam

Osborn Penn

Paris Lawrenceburg

McCool Pendleton Heights

James Roncolli

I think a lot has to go just right for it to happen at either weight (even if you've got 4 favorites that are all 70% chance-to-win guys, the chance that they all 4 win is only about 1 in 4).  But I'd say 182 has the best chance.  You have 2 significant favorites (Osborn and Hinkle) and a site with 3 shots at having an undefeated champ (New Castle).  The tough one will be Shaffer at Evansville.  He's a favorite, but only a slight favorite; and the chance that he runs the gauntlet through his 4 matches is probably below 50%, despite his being a favorite in each match.

Three of the six undefeated at 182 are all at the New Castle SS, so TWO will lose their 'undefeated.'  OUCH - Not pretty!  The other three have the potential to remain undefeated because they will not be at the same SS.   Wrestlers who are state ranked 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 12th are all at the New Castle SS too. It is really anybody's game - or should I say, 'meet.'  At least at 182, the New Castle SS is more like the state meet than a semi-state.   SIX of the top 12 (ranked) wrestlers are all at one Semi-State - HALF of the top 12 in the same place, and it's not even State.  Two talented wrestlers, who also deserve to at least make it to state, don't even have the HOPE or CHANCE of going since only 4 advance.  Somehow it just doesn't seem quite right, or fair.
