Jose Diaz(29-8) of Wheeler downs top LaPorte seed David Taylor(23-8) of Michigan City 9-0. 113: CP sectional again with a clean 4-0 sweep. 120: No big surprises here. Lucas Major(19-15)of New Prairie able to score the first LP sectional win over Avery Blake (26-15) of Kankakee Valley. 126: No surprises. Excited for a second round tilt with Chris Trent(32-7) of New Prairie facing Valparaiso's Tristan Dembowski(32-9) First class where seeds hold to form as the two sectionals split 2-2. 132: Denver Smith (17-22) of KV scores a huge upset by beating LP champ Shamus Troy(16-10) of LaPorte. Props to my KV wrestlers showing up and getting it done (shameless plug). Dee Collins (20-12) of Michigan City able to prevent the CP sweep by pinning Ryan Bottos(18-14) of Lowell. 138: First weight class that is sure to have a CP sect Vs LP sect championship. Notable win - Jared Rafferty(25-17) of Valpo scores a 10-7 win over Devon Becker(24-8) of John Glenn. 145: Another 2-2 split. Nice win for Bryant Hunsberger(21-12) of LaVille over Danny Wallace(24-8) of Hebron by a 5-4 margin. 152: CP sect dominates three of the four matches. Notable match: battle of Luke. Top LP seed Luke Zelenika (16-9) of Chesterton scores a razor thin 6-5 win over Luke Solomey(30-12) of KV. Manns looked dazed at the end, and there was some concern that he was injured, but he walked off on his own power.
