3. Wrestlers should only have a competition singlet on when entering the weigh-in area.  They must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in.  The chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete.  Parents/coaches cannot accompany the wrestlers.  They will not be allowed to carry additional clothing or anything other than the weigh-in card with them during weigh-ins.

4. Weigh-in cards must be left in the weigh-in area.  Do NOT leave the weigh-in area with your weigh-in card.

5. Wrestlers only need to weigh-in one time for all three styles provided he/she actively competes in the first two styles.  Athletes that wrestle in the first and third style must reweigh-in for the third style.

As the team Leader for the Duals Team this is a great event to help lock in one of the open spots on the Team. Myself and some of the coaches will be attending so we look forward to seeing you get after it.

Central Regionals is a Vital tournament to attend if you are planning on competing on one of the ISWA Freestyle or Greco National Dual Teams or  out at Fargo. Reasons listed below

1. Placing top three in your weight class, secures your spot on Team Indiana for Fargo.

2. It possibly opens up another spot for a wrestler to get on Team Indiana for Fargo.

3. Being a USA regional placer is one of the separation criteria for Fargo.

4. It also strengthens our National Dual team (if you are on that team) when it comes to the  seeding/separating of teams at National Duals.

5. The Midwest is the hotbed of wrestling & you will have elite caliber wrestlers from states like (OH,ILL,IOWA, Mich) to compete against & some you will see again out at Fargo.

I urge any Indiana wrestler to sign up for this tournament, it was nails last year, studs from all over the midwest & country were there.  Looking forward to a great weekend of wrestling.

I just got an email from former Iowa NCAA Champ Mark Reiland who is now the head coach at Iowa City West. He is bringing some of his best guys. Mark has coached numerous state champions both individual and team. Mark has a couple of guys starting for the Hawkeyes now. Dylan "I'll pin you from anywhere" Ness, currently a starter in the Minnesota line up wrestled in this a couple of years ago. So did Michigan's Adam Coon and Taylor Massa. I recall some kid named Brent Metcalf wrestling in this not so long ago. I wonder whatever happened to him? St Ed's in Ohio usually brings a good group of guys. Ed's has had a D-1 AA every year since 1982. I'm sure the Overtime and Izzy Style guys from Illinois will be here too.

All of this will be in your backyard. If you aren't afraid of the competition, we shall see you there!

Coaches, you are absolutely correct and this is a great warm-up for the Jr. Duals. My son will have a BRUTAL way to go in this tournament but it's great competition. At Junior 145, you have Logan Ryan (Iowa Commit), Mark Voss (FILA Cadet Placer), Wade Hodges (4th in Ohio) and a couple of other hammers including Kenan Carter from IL who is pretty tough also. It should be a great experience! I encourage everyone to register and come out, this is a great way to get better.  :)

COACHES:  PUSH THIS EVENT WITH YOUR KIDS!  KNOW BETTER!  This is the only NATIONAL tournament we have DIRECT access to without traveling across the country and paying an arm and a leg for.  There is still time to register!!! In order to be a monster you have to first slay a monster.  The monsters are here! I see 20+ kids who are nationally ranked just skimming over the list.  Take advantage of this annual opportunity!!

****PLEASE NOTE****

Some of the information listed on the ISWA Website Central Regional Flyer is not correct.  The information listed at the top of this post and below is correct.

1) Freestyle Wrestling for ALL Age Groups will start Saturday at 10:00 am - the iswa website has kids starting at 9:00 am

2) All Wrestlers (age groups) can register on site and weigh-in on Saturday morning (not just cadets and juniors as listed)

3) There are NO Greco Only Registration and Weigh-ins on Saturday Night - Greco only registration and weigh-ins are Sunday Moring

Please refer to the USA Wrestling Event Schedule (the posted at top of this post) and the link is http://www.teamusa.org/Home/USA-Wrestling/Events

Looking at the results I see very few Indiana kids participated at the Junior level

The numbers at the Junior level were not super big at ISWA state either.  I think you can contribute some of the number issues at the Junior level to many of graduating seniors deciding forgo their last ISWA season. Then if you have some of the first year Junior or their parents not wanting to risk going 0-2 against some tough Central Regional guys, the numbers drop even more.

I guess the question is how do we convince some of the graduating Seniors to hang around for the ISWA season, as well as, get the mat time and confidence up in the first year Juniors so they are willing to take on some of the Central Regional level competition.
