maligned
All 3 of the Lefevers (Carroll HS) are going to nationals for DIII #7-ranked Wabash. Conner and Riley were regional champs, while Reece was third. Riley recorded a 22-second fall in the quarters only to see his feat outdone by a SEVEN-SECOND fall by older brother Conner in the regional semifinals. Quite impressive. Wabash also sends Tommy Poynter (Dekalb), Josh Sampson (New Washington), and Austin O'Neil (Griffith) to nationals. Their total of 6 tied for most to come out of the toughest regional in the nation--matched only by national #2 and regional champ UW-Whitewater. Trine is sending Brandon Preston and Mackenzie Green to nationals while Manchester did not qualify anyone this year.
InjuredReserve
I believe josh Sampson is from New Washington not Warren Central. I think he was New Washington's first state qualifier. In his walbash photo he's rockin an awesome stash!

maligned
Wasnt he a division1 wrestler at IU? If that is the case, shouldnt he dominate at the division3 level? He is an ex-D1 wrestler, but so are many in NAIA. He's currently ranked #2 at 133. Brandon Wright is ranked #1 at 141 for Grand View. Seven other guys from Indiana Tech are also ranked in the top 16. Coach Irwin
Thank you to everyone that was able to make it this past Saturday for the NCAA Midwest Regional Qualifier, watched the live feed or sent their best on social media. It was an electric atmosphere and we appreciate all of the support! By qualifying 6 guys to the National Tournament we broke the school record for most qualifiers in 1 year! Three teams at Wabash previously sent 5 guys to Nationals (1975, 1982 & 1983) Conner Lefever tied the fastest pin record of 7 seconds set by John Horner '59 in the 1957-58 season! Riley Lefever just tied the single season pin record by picking up his 17th pin! His season record is now 34-0 w 17 pins, 3 techs & 10 majors.. We currently have 53 people going out to the National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA on March 14-15th. If you are going and would like to get tickets to sit with our group just let us know!
