That was his Junior year, both losses to Jeff Weiss, but nonetheless lost sectionals and regionals and beat returning State Champ Michael Duckworth in the finals. bigmak Posted February 7, 2014 Share Posted February 7, 2014 not a state title but still very impressive and gives hope to any wrestler to get on the podium: South Dearborn, 2 years ago, blake griffin place 3rd at 145 in sectionals losing to franklin countys nolan feller in the semis also finishing behind connersvilles cody house. goes into regionals to place 3rd again behind house and feller but this time losing to house in the semis. goes into semi state as a 3 seed to barely make it to state placing 4th. this time even though feller did place 2nd, house was now out. goes into state as a 4 seed and knocks the 1 seed off first round. wins 2nd match against a 2 seed. loses against corsaro in the semi finals, comes back in consolations to beat faurote for 3rd place. feller placed 7th. so griffin went 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd.
