Will have my picks up later in the week, but glancing through the brackets the best "ticket round" matches at each weight to get to Semi-State would be....

106

Nawl vs Schaefer...Nawl has the experience but don't count out Schaefer who benefits from a great practice room

113

Horty vs Matherly...believe Matherly won this at SIAC, but like at 106 Horty has great practice partners and coaching staff

120

Keller vs Burke...two Sophomores looking to get to SS, believe Burke won a close 1 point match in the season over Keller

126

Baehl vs Hemmings...toss-up, Baehl is well coached and will give Hemmings all he wants as its the Seniors last chance to get to SS

Willis vs Wargel...I don't know if Willis can match Wargel's strength, Wargel gave Bethel all he wanted

132

Suar vs Todrank...shouldn't be close, but Suar is a returning SS qualifier who could make an upset here.

138

Baehl vs Petrig...Petrig sounds like the favorite as he has wrestled well the past 2 weekends

Dixon vs Allen...I'd say Dixon as he has great practice partners, and Boonville wrestlers don't perform well this time of year

145

Farmer vs Smith...Did these two see each other at SIAC??? I know Smith sat out against Castle in there dual meet...

152

Wilson vs Naylor...Wilson had a huge win over Miller from HH in the semis at sectionals to upset the 1 seed to give himself this great draw.

160

Stotlar vs McDaniel...Is McDaniel healthy?

Jeffress vs Martin...Jeffress has the better practice room and coaching staff, but don't count out Martin

170

Shaw vs Taylor...toss-up?

182

Wallace vs Huelsing...toss-up?

195

Orth vs Newton...Newton has had a good year in his first year back, but has had a few bad losses of late and never count out a MD wrestler

Jefferson vs Lamar...Jefferson stepped up this time of year last year, can he do it again?

220

Kyles vs Butler...Two giants going at it

Choate vs Lytle...Choate has had some big wins this year over Barnes, Jefferson, JC kid, but does he have one more in him?

285

Any of them could get either way I feel.

anyone know why mcdaniel inj. defaulted for the 3rd/4th place match?

this will be a tough first round match with stotlar and both kids are very deserving of advancing.

I'm sure Jeffres and Martin are not complaining though.

He has several stictches is what I was told. Don't know if they popped open during the day or if he just couldn't wrestled with them.

He had 12 stitches in a finger. Wrestled mostly with only one hand at sectional. He should be ok for regional.

I keep looking at this post to see if it's updated and it's not. It seems like every year there is some drama and huge matches but this year seems to be pretty quiet. Is 126 the only lock? Who will advance the most to ss besides MD? First round wars?

I don't see Lee at 126 being the only "lock"...

106 its between Konrath and Egli

113 Ferguson is a lock

120 Johnson is the favorite but Brown could pull this one out as well

126 Lee is a lock

132 Todrank, Jourdan, or Davis could win it

138 Schnell, Seng, Petrig could win it

145 Pierre and Karges will be a good one

152 Kelley is a lock

160 Kemper and Forzley once again

170 Rickenbaugh is a lock

182 Konerding and Bassemier could be a good one

195-285 I think anybody could win it that are the top seeds.

Johnson MD is improving each week IMO.  He seems to be peaking at the right time.  Lee MD is so dominate and does it without completely destroying the local opponents confidence......he is that good.  I think he will take a different approach for the out of town visitors next week at the Ford Center!

He has several stictches is what I was told. Don't know if they popped open during the day or if he just couldn't wrestled with them.

Tristen McDaniel had to be stitched back up between his first match with Memorial and his second match with Mater Dei, no excuses he just has to persevere.
