Mattyb
Wow! What an awesome line up! Pumped to watch it. Very strong programs represented. Pool A will be brutal. Heck this might be one of the toughest middle school dual meets ever in Indiana.

jlittlejohn
Pools are pretty well balanced, as, they were set based off of last years results. With Yorktown (2nd place last year) dropping out this year, the team pool distribution was effected. Following distribution by placement from last years results the new teams were entered based on order of confirmation alternating between pools. Last year was the first year for Franklin to host this event and consisted of only 8 teams. This year's event was expanded to 12 and there has been talk of expanding to 16 teams if logistics can be worked out with the school's facilities. We have a waiting list of teams interested in entering this event just as we did when it was being hosted in Bloomington. Pool A Perry Meridian (Champion) Evansville Mater Dei (4th place) Center Grove (6th place) Doe Creek (New Palestine) (8th place) Avon North (Avon) (2nd to confirm) Columbus Northside (Columbus East & North) (4th to confirm) Pool B Franklin (3rd) Bellmont (5th) John Young (Mishawaka) (7th) Batchelor (Bloomington North & South) (1st to confirm and original host) Highland Hills (Floyd Central) (3rd to confirm) Greendale (Lawrenceburg) (5th to confirm)
quinnsDAD
my oldest wrestled in this back in 01 maybe, when it was held at Bloomington North was awesome then and has only been growing stronger, Quinn wrestled at Bloomington South the first year then they had it at IU at the gym The Hoosiers wrestle at, that was cool. with Franklin taking over, should be able to take this to another level yet. good luck to all. jlittlejohn
We started this in '96 when I was coaching at Batchelor, I was also an assistant at South. While with the high school in Evansville for the Mater Dei Duals, Tom Jankowski and I began discussing putting something together at the middle school level. That first year we had 4 schools; Batchelor, Mater Dei, Belzer (Lawrence Central & North) & Craig (Lawrence Central & North) all pretty good teams back then. Coincidently, Royce Deckard was at Lawrence North at the time. Once he took over at South the program improved by leaps and bounds from top (High School) to bottom (Club), including this event. I've stayed involved over the years as an official and take a great deal of pride in what it has become. Last year when an unfortunate situation arose in Bloomington and there was no facility available to host on the corresponding date, it was about to be scrapped, Franklin stepped up to host and the core of the participating schools, ironically; minus the Bloomington schools, stayed committed to the event and it was a great success. To Franklin's credit they wanted to keep the event and see it grow, thus, the expansion to 12 teams this year. With the absence of Batchelor last year, Mater Dei is the only school to have participated every season in this event since its inception.
