Once I have brackets in hand, I will post the brackets as they are seen on paper.

Winter Bulletin 63 paragragh B line 5

"5. Coaches should strive to keep open minds when seedings are being decided. The main objective of seeding is to

have outstanding wrestlers separated in the brackets so that they will not meet each other until the finals. Seeding

shall be based upon the wrestler's proven ability and not upon the desire for unwarranted advantage."

Wow is all I can say about how this tournament seeding came out. 126 Hemmings lost to Schitter.  132 Boger pinned by Sanders,  152 Kerstiens winning record,  160 Collon winning record versus 2 and 3 seeds losing records..

I know in the end you have to wrestle and win to be the champ.  No doubt about it, but come on seeding the best kids did not happen here.

A lot of the problem is that the wrestlers all went down a weight class or went up one. So there was no head to head completion with most of them.

Also they had to use the old Big 8 conference seeding criteria because of Mount Carmel Illinois not having the same state tournament series structure as Indiana does.

All the coaches voted before the meeting to use the old criteria, it was unanimous, by all coaches to use old criteria.

I don't disagree that the seeding was not perfect, but it was also brought up to create new seeding criteria and present it to the AD's at the Big 8 conference meeting in March, this is a unique situation due to Mount Carmel Illinois being in our Conference.

Also all the teams do not wrestle each other Jasper and Mount Vernon do not get to wrestle each other.

There was also the weather canceling matches that could not get made up for what ever reason, so that cut down on head to head competition as well.

Don't know what the problem solver would be, but I would be willing to help solve the problem, so this does not keep happening.

This isn't the first time this happened in the seeding meeting for the Big 8. Just the first time that it happened this many times.

I could not agree more.  Something needs to change.  A lot of the weight classes worked out fine.  Hvy weight for instance.  Moises never wrestled #1 or #3 but beat #4.  He had a 1-0 record and was seeded 2nd.  Which more than likely is a correct seeded weight class and makes sense.  Then 126 is all out of wack.  The way things look here you could be a 3 time state champ.  Wrestled one weight class and was injured early in the year.  You came back and wrestled another weight class but isn't seeded due to criteria or common sense. Kind of funny and not funny at the same time!!  Criteria's are agrued one way when its in your teams best interest, but another way when its not.  I do know why a lot of the teams haven't wrestled each other in awhile.  Changes need to happen for sure or you will keep running into the same problem.

It hurts Koerner at 126 because he drew Schitter first round and Taylor at 152 because he drew Kersteins firts round...I just think you have to use common sense here,

Taylor and Kerstiens could very well be a finals match but instead it will be a first round match.

at 126 Schitter is a State qaulifier!

IMO

1. Schitter Jasper 2-1

2. Jarrod Hemmings B 29-7

3. Ryan Koerner W 29-3

4.  Austin Bethel MV 17-0

126 gets even tougher because you have Bethel who has an 0 losses but Koerner is a semi state qaulifier...  I'm not sure about if Hemmings has a win over Koerner but I'd assume he does.  Just having fun with this...
