Y2CJ41
What do you think about using the college out of bounds rules at this year's IHPO?
WrestleMan
No question I would do it. They used college out of bounds at Militia Duals this summer and it made the wrestling much better. Many more opportunities for scoring and less playing the edge
wrestlinggods
Y2, You started this tourney for our state showcase some of the best talent around & it has grown tremdiously & it's attracting some of the best talent in the country!!! Implementing the college out of bounds rule will now bring the next factor n growing a elite tournament "college coaches"!!!!! That why we do what we do, get kids to the next level in this sport & that is great transition all HS elite wrestlers need 2 be exposed 2 earlier in their career!! Go for it!!! Never Quit
How about adding riding time too?
Y2CJ41
One step at a time here. With the college out of bounds rules we will align ourselves with the Super 32 more as to how they run their tournament. They do not do riding time and with shortened periods(2-1-1) I don't not see it as something that we should do at this time.
1oldwrestler
As long as the ref's can apply the OB rule consistently, should work fine. Do the refs you have working the tourney have experience in the college ranks or have they had experience calling matches with the college OB rules? If this is going to be the first foray for many of them calling it, it might get a little dicey but it's an off season tourney, who cares. The results from these matches have no bearing on Sectional seedings anyway or any other seeds for regular season tourneys.

wrestlinggods
College riding time is not good for HS wrestling. We need to develope Indiana HS wrestlers n 3 ways....1 how to physically dominate anyone n the country on r feet, 2 mentally & Physically dominat them on top when we want to,& 3 know that we can escape from any1 n the country!!!! No HS elite level tournament needs riding time, it takes away from the core develovment of an elite wrestler. If we as HS coaches do r job in those 3 vital aspects n r sport, Indiana wrestlers will do just fine adjusting to college riding time. Coach Weimer Y2....college out of bounds...DO IT!!!!!!! Wrestling0021
Does this mean you can get call for a pin with shoulders not in circle as well?
Y2CJ41
Does this mean you can get call for a pin with shoulders not in circle as well? At this time no. If the Super 32 were to go to this we would look into it. Our goal is to align ourselves with how the Super 32 runs their tournament as much as possible. Y2CJ41
I gave into the peer pressure and we will utilize the college out of bounds rules to align ourselves more with the Super 32.
