Different Styles

We all know there are many styles. There is scrappy wrestling. The strong guy. Cradle Kings. Headlock Heroes. Defense. Offense. Counteroffense. Takedown Specialist. Top Specialists and Bottom. There is the guy who is technically sound. And the Fast Pace and Slow Pace. And scramblers. And finally the guy that adapts to his opponent. At the end of the day which style prevails? And who are some of your favorite wrestlers to watch because of their style?

I like seeing the matchups between the funk wrestler and the technician wrestler. When both of those guys are scrappers and like to get after it you see some really good wrestling. I think about all those matchups between Brennan Cosgrove and Eric Mcgill. You don't get more exciting wrestling than that.

everyone always says i am just funk hahhaa to clear everything up it wasnt funk my style is to create scrambles and win scrambles i create scrambles from someone getting in deep on a shot and not everyone is trained to stay on the legs when going int oa scramble eric and i were trained so i had to do other stuff ontop of that but both of us are technical wrestlers. but my favorite wrestler is someone who always pushes the action never stalls alwasy tries scoring from every position

I appreciate the takedown specialists and the guys who dont get tired. You can always tell whenn a guy breaks because a kid just keeps coming at him and isnt even breathing hard.

I used to think it was all about takedowns.  But over the years I have adjusted.  You also have to be a good scrambler, have good defense, and be able to get out from bottom for that to work well.  I have always heard if you want to be one of the best you should be great in 2 of the 3 positions.

Who were the twins that moved in from Alabama?  They were awesome on their feet but nothing on top and I don't think they were great on bottom so neither one ever on state championship.

We have a wrestler that is a cradle king. He is kind of goofy and terrible on his feet. He is a good scrambler however and has a strong bridge ive never seen him pinned ever. He also gets more active as the match goes on. He is very exciting to watch.

Speaking of bridges.  When we first took over our program we could not win a match to save our lives, therefore we got to practice a bunch of bridge and turns.  We had one of wrestlers during a meet we were getting trashed at yell out to his teammate as he was on his back, "they can't stop our bridge and turn."  It was a sad sad day.
