Is Eli Walker of Yorktown missing because he was not allowed to wrestle last year?

He is ranked high in the Preseason Magazine. (which is great so if you havent bought one please do so)

South Adams had a reserve kid that wrestled 106 last year,  Nussbaum, I think. He was better than most 106's, but couldn't break the line-up with Sawyer Miller there and LJ Moser at 113.  If he makes 106 this year he'll be in the mix for top 8 and SA will have a powerful start to their matches,

I'm counting on some more bellmont kids being in the mix!

They have some very talented freshmen coming in this year... but this will be a down year for Bellmont (especially considering th very high expectations at Bellmont)

There doesnt seem to be a dominate team in the semistate this year.

Ytown has the most #1 ranked wrestlers with 3 while Elkhart Memorial has the most wrestlers ranked with 7.

This will be a fun semistate to watch as the weight classes sort out throughout the year

Look for Elkhart Memorial to put a few more wrestlers in the rankings. Our team looks to be pretty solid again this year. We open at the Chesterton tournament this weekend so there will be some good match ups depending on where kids are really at weight wise. It looks like alot of ours will be up a weight class compared to where the rankings have them. And I think they will probably stay over there over the season versus cutting hard to get down. Our new coach isn't big on cutting to hard versus staying at a maintainable weight, being healthy and feeling good.

he will be at 126/120 and still do very good.

I agree where is the credit for a consistent team with a strong program, they have been know to sneak kids through year after year. I would have to throw jacob bergman in the mix at 160 and who knows. the younger baker kid is still a baker with some varsity experience.

According to the IHSAA website only Willie Mahlan returns of the wrestlers that qualified for regional for Bellmont last year.  He had a losing record and placed 4th at sectional.  Not really ranking worthy.

spencer malcolm is stronger than were he is at. my biggest concern is the kid at 170 from union city. he is about a joke and a half there was hype on him last year. Im not sure he made it out of regionals let alone be above a kid such as casey adams.  At 138 is zac yoder the only name you could find at the bottom of the hat? Another one from adams central derek ellinger is he 132 again?

There are only 4 returning semi-state qualifiers at 132 and 6 at 138.  It is not easy to find people to fill the spots at those weights when you are looking at regional qualifiers and many with .500 or less records.

Please feel free to do your own set of rankings.

He made it to semi-state at 170. How is that a "joke and a half?"
